Did the half day trip many times but a very long time time ago. After that I had my own transports (local boat, jet ski or kayaks) and was accessing from the sea rather than NR4 bridge as the Rangers.

The half day trip was taking visitors to what is now the moon and gulf Chinese beach that you can access by road so I guess it is discontinued.
The full day trip takes you to koh Tmei in addition of the mangrove trip and river mouth section to get there (the river has several arms, the smaller ones if enough water being more interesting to travel)

Your question make me think that a visit to koh kchang village on the other side of the Ream river (access just after the highway toll booth is also long time overdue. The road to this fishermen village used to be very scenic.

Another shitty Sunday morning in Shitville:
Woke up this morning to silence which lasted until 7:10 when the construction work started up. Breakfast outside with a cool breeze coming in from the sea.
Time for a swim to wake up and clear the head. 2 minutes on the bike to clean golden sand and clear green-blue water. The water temperature is perfect.
I took a book but there was plenty of people-watching to do – groups of heads with funny hats bobbing about speaking russian, Cambodian families closer to the shore minding the kids. There are people selling fruit and drinks,but they sit back and wait for the customers who will be along eventually.
When you dive (or flop) into a feeble excuse for a wave and head out to sea, it’s like you’re alone in the world with a few fish for company. It’s getting hot, so back home for a well-earned beer. The construction work has stopped, all is peaceful and that breeze feels great.

That’s when I thought “well, there goes another shitty Sunday morning in Shitville”.

Thanks for this report. I have grown up in Ream but there are so many places down there that i have not checked out. BTW, for the moon and gulf Chinese Beach, you need to pay for entering there. I don't know how much for foreigner, but Cambodian needs to pay two dollars.

Just a small additional to my lovely home town Sihanoukville. I will try to find more good sides of Sihanoukville and post them down here.

This new established bungalow place called Hidden Valley Resort @ Ream. I found it on facebook about a month ago. I guess this new place would give you guys a very different feeling and experience of Sihanoukville. I guess you wouldn't see many tourists there but locals i guess. I don't know much about this new resort yet. I sent the owner some questions to try to find out more about the place and i wanted to visit there but he didn't reply .

I am not sure where this resort is exactly located as the owner didn't reply me. I think this resort is close to my house. it might be located at the river under a bridge along national road number 4. it is called Tek Sap.

If you take away the (ironic) references to Shitville, you will see that I had a fantastic sunday morning here. Those poor people who lve in PP can not even dream about this this: get up in the morning, all is (relatively) quiet, cool natural sea breezes, get to a beautiful beach in 2 mns etc - I feel sorry for anyone who thinks that that equals Shitsville.

Of course there is some shit here, but none in the rest of Cambodia, right ? Peace to you people who spit without tasting the fruit. Personal tastes and all that.

Nice. I do think that it is a positive review of our lovely Sihanoukville. It is really likely that i am moving to work in Sihanoukville soon. I am trying to get a better job first before my moving. That last time i visited Sihanoukville. I felt like i like it even more.

whilst the construction noise is a pain its not something unique to SHV, the lovely beaches on the other hand....
