Where Should I Go?
Ok, so I have a 9-day break coming up soon and I can't decide where I should go.
I've been looking at places with cheap and direct flights from here. All the flights seem to be about $600 return, except Egypt, which is about $300. Prices are going up though by the day it seems...
I've somewhat got it narrowed down to the following places. Any thoughts on these places are welcome and appreciated:
Egypt (Sounds like a boring place, but I gotta see them pyramids, and fancy 5-star hotels are about $60 a night right now!)
Sri Lanka (Don't know where I should go there, but sounds fun enough.)
Greece (I'd almost rather wait until I could work out some sailing there, and someone said the weather ain't great right now either.)
Cyprus (Know nothing about the place.)
Croata (Hmmm....)
France (That could be fun! I've never been to France before. Hopefully it's not freezing there right now?)
Kenya (Again, I know nothing about this place.)
Nepal (Could be fun.)

I don't know about those places, but I can recommend Cambodia. I know you haven't been there for a while. '
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Croatia: If you go down the south (Zadar, Dubrovnik area) you'll most likely catch some nice weather, tho most likely it's not getting warmer than around 15°C. Sunshine should be fine.General Mackevili wrote:Ok, so I have a 9-day break coming up soon and I can't decide where I should go.

France: North and North East are rather cold this time of the year, down in the South it's nicer. Sunshine and around 20°C

not boring at all, Great place, lots to see and do but it stinks like an open piss hole
visit the museum, pyramids an the night light show ( sit in the graveyard to watch it
take the boat down river to Luxor and visit the old city of Thebes on the back of a camel or Donkey
Sri Lanka (Don't know where I should go there, but sounds fun enough.)
great place visit capital Colombo and the beaches at Hikadewa an than go up to Kandy in the hills
Greece (I'd almost rather wait until I could work out some sailing there, and someone said the weather ain't great right now either.)
love Greece, just hanging out in the city is great but 8 days might be too much, hop a boat for a few days to an islands
Cyprus (Know nothing about the place.) No idea
Croata (Hmmm....) No idea
France (That could be fun! I've never been to France before. Hopefully it's not freezing there right now?)
Fantastic place, great food an the people are friendlier than those u meet outside the country,
Paris ( 4 days to see it all) ,train down to Orleans, Lyon, , or over to Strasbourg BUT it is NOT cheap, was there in 2009 and we tried to get by on $300/day for myself an daughter
Kenya (Again, I know nothing about this place.)
ONLY if your going to take a safari out of Narobi and then visit mt Kenya, its a great mtn, seeing the animals in their own environment is a great experience, Great bars and girls in Narobi as well LOL
A safari will cost ya $$$
Nepal (Could be fun.)
YES but 9 days is not enough to do any serious trekking although April is a great month but than u only have time for Kathmandu and the bus down to Pohkara, maybe u could fit in a small 4-5 day trek out of KTM to Gosainkund lake
Happy trails

I'd go to Iraq.
I got a friend/co-worker who's going there to join pay (only $200 for the weapon) to work with a private security group to kill some ISIS. Sounds like fun!

Re: Where Should I Go?
Not on your list but what about Jordan. Not too far away. Quite compact so you can get around a few places in your limited time. Petra and Jerash are well worth the trip. Beaches at Dead Sea and Aqaba.
But maybe you have been already?

EGYPT !
but 9 days cairo would be pain in the ass...
see pyramids and don't miss the cairo museum, then move on to Sinai (dahab), climb mount Sinai at night, and if you like, make a 2 day trip to
(a) Jerusalem (they will stamp a paper, not your passport) or
(b) Jordan, see petra.
lucky you...

Egypt is my least favorite place on the planet.
African safari would be more my style, if I could afford a decent one.
