15 years time Otres will be a major beach resort. The Chinese will have gone and it'll be the new rich, maybe Russians or Indians. Who knows.
I agree, it cannot be compared and even 30 years ago Samui was not a dump as Sihanouk is now....

nor was Pattaya, a fully functioning resort/city when i lived there in 1984
When i first visited Samui i 1976, it was sorta like Otres now,,, but was never as dirty as SNV ( and NO CHINESE)
Cambodia is Cambodia, wont ever be anything like Thailand..
