Traveling in Times of Coronavirus

Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

Have you got you International Vaccination Certificate? There is a chat about it in another thread, ask UT about it.
Thanks Doc. I had originally requested it from https://search.vaccine.gov.kh/ on Feb 26 but never received the certificate (linked via telegram). So, I've requested another one and this time, I got a separate message on Telegram from 'dvcbot' saying my request has been submitted successfully. I didn't get that last time so either it wasn't working or it was user error. Anyway, this time I might be lucky to get it in the next 4 weeks.

Not withstanding that, the OZ embassy has mentioned a number of times on their FB page that the blue vax card is acceptable for travel and entry to OZ. It also meets the requirements as specified here: https://www.passports.gov.au/guidance-f ... rtificates and https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/covid19/ ... on-testing

Of course this is also up to Singapore Airlines as to what they will accept however as @Username Taken mentioned earlier both his kids recently returned to OZ with just the blue card and without a 'certíficate'. Unless I hear otherwise, I'm confident the card is enough. If not, it's a case of going to Raffles or Intercare with $25.. unless I get the official one in the meantime from the QR code on the card.

Well surprise surprise I got an email from Expedia saying they need my visa card details updated because they are trying to refund my Thai airways fare from 2019, expecting the refund to arrive in a few days, and I'd given up on ever booking flights unless directly with the airlines, may give Expedia another go sometime.
I'm standing up, so I must be straight.

That's what I thought but my old visa details had expired, I gave the number a ring in was Expedia all good money now in my visa card,
Great result from Expedia and believe it or not even Thai airways for the cash refund and not a credit.

I have a flight owed to me by Philippines Airways, no refund, no voucher despite many (expensive) phone calls. When I get to London in June I am going to visit their sales office in London and sit there until it gets sorted.

I've still got a Qantas voucher but from what I've read once you put your voucher number into your booking the price jumps up. Will test this out latter this year and report back.
Anyway once I've used my voucher covid will be history, something to talk about years down the track, the younger people will never believe the shit that went on.

You need booster shot for Philippines being double vaccinated isn't good enough, that's them off my next stopover list.

Tourists to Japan may be sent home if they don’t wear face masks and follow other health measures, government says

Japan is set to allow package-tour visitors from selected countries and regions from Friday as the border gradually reopens to international tourism
Travel companies will be required to explain health rules and book tours only for customers who have agreed to comply, according to guidelines issued on Tuesday

Updated: 3:17pm, 7 Jun, 2022

Tourists visiting Japan may be sent home if they fail to abide by rules requiring them to wear face masks, sanitise their hands thoroughly and buy private health insurance, according to guidelines set by the government ahead of the cautious, gradual reopening of the country’s border.

Travel companies will be required to explain the rules and book tours only for customers who have agreed to comply. That will include a warning that the tourists could be asked to leave Japan if they disobey the rules. The guidelines, announced by the government’s tourism agency on Tuesday, are part of an effort to restart inbound tourism after the borders closed in early 2020.

Just write on the back of your card a time and date of the booster in the same colour pen. That's all they do and nobody will check.
