Is saying "I want to get out of this dictatorial state which takes away my rights without the approval of my elected representative" a good enough reason? Is this a law? Did it pass parliament?

Yes, it did. See below if you fancy a turgid read. It did not go through without a lot of concern by MP's. The law includes a 'sunset clause' which means an automatic expiration of the restrictions at a given date, whereupon M'P's can vote to extend them. The next date is, I think, at the end of March.Bitte_Kein_Lexus wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 10:04 am Is saying "I want to get out of this dictatorial state which takes away my rights without the approval of my elected representative" a good enough reason? The more people get vaccinated and the less hospitalisations and deaths, the quicker these restrictions will lapse. The UK is nearly there. However, when it comes to international travel, I would expect tighter restrictions upon entering the country, not less.
Read all about it here.

The guy has trollface man as his avatar, I’m not sure how useful it is to take his statements seriously.Doc67 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 12:02 pmYes, it did. Met him in person. Definitely not a troll. As for usefulness, I can attest to that when I wanted to get rid of my Garmin.nerdlinger wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 4:24 pmThe guy has trollface man as his avatar, I’m not sure how useful it is to take his statements seriously.Doc67 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 12:02 pmYes, it did. Re: UK: Travellers Must Give Reason for International Travel
It's boggling my mind just how many people here seem to be under the delusion that every other country in the world haven't also put various travel restrictions in place in response to the pandemic.
Half the thread is people criticizing the UK response for being too little too late and the other half is people who've somehow managed to get the idea that the rest of the world is allowing free movement while Britain alone has fallen to the fascists.

G'donya Nerd.
It's great to see the British Bulldog fighting spirit is still alive.
Keep the home fires burning
Fight them on the beaches....
Bring back the Spitfire!!
The chalky cliffs of Dover, those sacred borders of Civilisation itself, shall forever stay White.
and all that.

My lord above, what do Australians and Brits in Cambodia think of all this nonsense? So many tout things about human rights but approve that one must appeal to the government to live their lives.
