I took the big Giant Ibis bus from SR to PP recently. I thought it was very good but had a couple of minor issues so I reviewed them on tripadvisor, giving them 4 stars but listing the small problems. I got a PM from the company wanting to know the exact date and time of the bus so they could remedy.
It is annoying when they won’t change the date on a ticket but that is the deal, and a common one in Asia. In the West they will often change it but charge a high admin fee for doing so.

Once I was in Koh Kong, at the border. A middle aged German lady was complaining that she had bought an expensive ticket for a VIP bus to take her there from Kampot. She had to share that minibus with about twenty locals and several chickens. Cambodia is lacking in the trade descriptions department. Caveat emptor with a vengeance.

Haha. I've been on that "bus". Never again. One of the worst trips I've taken in Cambodia

Companies, with a few exceptions, go downhill here quick.

Too many competitors, raises in taxes, bla bla bla.

It's sad but all too common to see good names go down. :(

The good companies are stellar, however. :)

Too bad there's no "Passap" for buses, haha!

I hear those a few select Ford "supervans" (12 seaters?) are good, but which exactly, I don't know now.

Personally, I take responsibility and drive myself.

More effort, but always more fun.

Not if there's a fire, not even if you hear the sound of a thud from my home and one week later there's a smell coming from there that can only be a decaying human body and you have to hold a hanky to your face because the stench is so thick that you think you're going to faint.

Even then, don't come knocking...Not for ANY reason.

There is sort of Passapp for buses: https://bookmebus.com/

Also with them I have been able to change the ticket to another date without any problem. And if you book week before, on most routes you can get 30% discount too. Giant Ibis is not on this platform but most other companies are.
