Manchester Airport UK queried outward/return ticket.

Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

Manchester Airport UK queried outward/return ticket.

Post by VaperDude »

Flying to Cambo today.... Totally stoked

Going with Qatar they queried me twice about not having a return ticket.

Apparently their guidelines say customers "should" have a return ticket. If it said "must" they would have refused me until I have one. -- I know it's simple to get one lol.

Just FYI post really

Hopefully it goes as smooth when I get to SR airport.

Return air tickets is there much difference in price, then a single one way flight? I have found myself paying a lot more for one way back to the UK.
Always "hope" but never "expect".

In my experience, there's a big difference in price between buying two one way tickets and a return for long haul flights . A single ticket can be almost 3/4 the price of a return.

Same experience with Qatar airlines from London few years ago. However it do not have to be return ticket... just any ticket from Phnom Penh to another country (e.g i was prepared and photoshoped bus ticket to Vietnam and this was enough)

Yeah any exit ticket from the country is what they wanted.
I didn't get one, so hopefully they cool at Cambo airport.

If you generally don't know your return date then a one way is ok. But generally a return is cheaper than 2 x one way and although it might cost $50 or so to change the return date, plus fare difference if any, then this will still work out cheaper.

And if there is any chance of going off the rails in Cambodia, that return ticket might just save your life!

I can't remember ever being asked to show a return ticket at any airport anywhere in the world

Just flew to Vietnam one-way via Malaysia air from LHR, booked a coach just incase for $9 but no one asked me anything, even in Vietnam they just did the visa thing and let me on my way. Hope you got through ok, can't imagine it'll be an issue though as there are more important things on the go ATM. How long you going for?
Slow down little world, you're changing too fast.

Haven't slept in 26 hours and there is still another 5/6 hours till I got my hotel. Wtf. Hahha

Onward journey isn't required for most Nationalities to obtain a VOA in Cambodia.

Many airlines insist on it, or a valid Visa, because they are liable for repatriating travellers who arrive on their airline and are denied entry.
