Basically it is too big and too exposed to succeed and doomed to fail. The rooftop is useless until sunset. 3 restaurants and all expensive.

With those prices its obviously aimed at only wealthy khmers down on the weekends> ( those staying at He's daughters place across the sands)
but what about the other 5 days a week??

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Eggsackly and whats more if it looks remotely successful they will have competition soon enough. It is far 2 big - well over 100m long and 30 wide.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Sun Mar 26, 2023 5:49 pm With those prices its obviously aimed at only wealthy khmers down on the weekends> ( those staying at He's daughters place across the sands)

On the bright side, those prices will keep the riff-raff out that is so often seen infesting restaurants in nearby Kampot. What I'm really wondering about is the quality though. I'd have no problem paying $12 for a Full English Breakfast on the beach, considering I'd be in holiday mode, but the quality would better be comparable to the best I can get elsewhere.

Re: The Kep Revival
I ate here tonight and the food was great. And the building itself is very beautiful. Nice breeze at least evening time. I didn't find anything to complain about it really.Alex wrote: ↑Sun Mar 26, 2023 6:57 pm On the bright side, those prices will keep the riff-raff out that is so often seen infesting restaurants in nearby Kampot. This is by same people who owns the Kep Sailing Club just behind this new establishment and that is considered to be an excellent place. And the prices in that place are pretty much the same. Maybe +10% higher in this new place.

I am sure the food is pretty good quality but considering the size of the place that needs a lot of covers to make profits. Story I heard was the Strategy Manager expects 1000pax each weekend and that will never happen - maybe the first month or so but it will inevitably diminish numerically as new places are opening.
Curious .... how many people were there tonight and which restaurant did you choose?
Hanno can prob run a professional eye over it's potential.

yes indeed, they are overlanders, didnt met them in person on the road, but they were heading 2 months ahead from me, and probably the first guys who received as overlander an Indian visa in Islamabad, since Covid, they made some good tips on the ioverlander.com website, what helped me to get in PP.
But i had no clue they came also to KOW . . .
