What are you inferring here, that there are people counterfeiting Kampot pepper, akin to the fake Black Label? Kampot pepper has been cultivated in Kampot from before the 13th century and the original plants were thought to be from India.shnoukieBRO wrote: ↑Sun Jul 01, 2018 12:00 pmComes from IndonesiaStroppyChops wrote: ↑Sat Jun 30, 2018 8:22 pm The "long pepper" has a distinctly different flavour to other pepper, to my taste. Black pepper (Piper nigrum) is a flowering vine of the Piperaceae family, native to the Malabar Coast. This vine grew wild in the forest, along tree trunks, in the Kerala in India. Plants were then transported and grown in tropical areas, such as Brazil, Madagascar and South-East Asian countries.http://kampotpepper.com/
Kampot pepper has a EU Protected Geographical Indication: The coveted Protected Geographical Indication designation, or PGI, means that any product sold in EU countries calling itself "Kampot pepper" must come from a designated region in southern Cambodia that includes Kampot and neighbouring Kep province.
The recognition was awarded to Kampot pepper on Feb. 18, making it the first Cambodian product to receive the label, the EU office in Cambodia said in a statement this week.http://www.intracen.org/blog/Cambodias- ... ndication/
Heres the relevant document:

Hardly. I got it directly from the guy who runs the NGO that grows it.shnoukieBRO wrote: ↑Sun Jul 01, 2018 12:00 pmComes from IndonesiaStroppyChops wrote: ↑Sat Jun 30, 2018 8:22 pm The "long pepper" has a distinctly different flavour to other pepper, to my taste. We also use it in one of our soaps.

like wagyu beef, wagyu is just a perticular breed of cow that used to be farmed in only certain areas in japan, but now a days, wagyu cows can be farmed in australia or anywhere else in the world but still carries the wagyu branding, so unless it can be verified that the pepper is of kampot species and farmed in kampot then its not truely kampot's kampot pepper
Money is not the problem, the problem is no money

Exactly, but I have showed the actual "Kampot peper" is easily verified>bolueeleh wrote: ↑Sun Jul 01, 2018 10:52 pm like wagyu beef, wagyu is just a perticular breed of cow that used to be farmed in only certain areas in japan, but now a days, wagyu cows can be farmed in australia or anywhere else in the world but still carries the wagyu branding, so unless it can be verified that the pepper is of kampot species and farmed in kampot then its not truely kampot's kampot pepper

like when they call us colonials.
and happy high treason day etc by the diehard tories in denial.
happy Canada Day btw, the poms had to send the canuckles to burn the upstart capitol in 1812, but always take credit upon themselves for the sap boiling, moose hunter's effort eh?

I'm not confident about whether he's just a fool, or he's attempting to proposition me. Either way, what a muppet.
