This morning turned out interesting! I decided to go to the road bridge not far from Nak's sisters, there's a constant breeze that flow's under the bridge, so the air is very pleasant, infact it's very welcoming to get out of the oppressive heat.

Chinese fishing nets in the distance. You may have to zoom in on the photo.

I first came across the Chinese fishing nets in south India, they work on a canterleaver system.
Under the bridge there were two guys making the float, platform if you like to support the canterleaver system of the net.

Kids love to swim and they we're in the water before me, but I was soon to follow, helping the two guys to force in the lengths of bamboo acting has the main float.

This morning I was down to the lake again for a swim, the two Khmer guys were making the platform for their Chinese fishing net.
Today, after my swim I thought I would have a ride along the bank of the lake, here I would get some better pictures of the Chinese nets.

These are different from the one's I had first come across in India. The one's there were land based and of a very large size. The counterweights were of large boulders, and even then it took at least 5 men to pull the rope to lift the net.

I had to have a journey into Kompong Cham once more, too the local ABA branch. I wanted to withdraw money, but it turned into a right ordeal, after being at the counter I was asked to sit back down, half an hour passed very easy before I received any cash.
Then I went to the Smile restaurant I put my bag down and had to call for service, the girls we're too busy on their smartphones. The boss had to intervine, but the girls just looked over to me and went back to their phone's. I got on the bike and rode down riverside to Lazy Mekong Days.
What a great cup of tea -

Now I will go to the supermarket and get some food and cook back at the sisters :)

Today I have come once more into Kampong Cham, hoping I can get these itchy bites sorted on my arms and legs. I went to a private clinic, who I know the doctors there, because they have treated Nak in the past. But "NO" they would not treat me, and sent me to another clinic, they too would not treat me, but told me to go to the main hospital. I arrived at the hospital and was taken from one department to another, but again no treatment. Now I wait until 3pm to return to another clinic, I hope it's not going to be another refusal.
So I sit lower riverside with a sweet sugarcane juice, it's not a bad place to be, infact it is very pleasant indeed.

Why they keep sending you away? They still scared of COVID or something?

I don't really know the answer, why they will not treat me. I can understand it more with the government hospital, they just gave me the run-around, I know this because I overheard the doctors talking about not treating barang, I decided to confront them on this, their answer was I could come and try again tomorrow. But has for the private clinics I have no answer to why they will not treat me. I went to the private hospital that I know we'll, because they were the two Khmer doctors who first diagnosed Nak's illness. Both doctors had qualified overseas, and I have had plenty of visits with Nak to their hospital in the past.
Anyway I wait until 3pm and see what will happen at the hospital that told me to return. I have tried many medicine and cream up to now, and nothing is working.
Until 3pm I have time for food :)

I went back for my 3pm appointment at the Veal Vong Health Center. The doctor basically looked at me soon as soon has I arrived, I was look over and given a jar of cream and a course of tablets, all for the cost of 3,000reil.
Then I had to wait for a little time while there was some form filling by the reception staff for my Covid19 booster. But then there was plenty of people arriving for the Covid19 shot, but, again I was the first in for the jab.

Nice road trip report :thumb: . You're probably sorted on the itchy bites but if the cream supplied does not work try to find some hydro cortisone cream. That did the trick for me to treat horribly itchy sandfly bites once. Possibly you were given just that...

Are you talking about the plentiful cocktail bars at riverside just below the night market?
Thing is has you yourself know I don't really drink. And I don't like to drink and drive.
But if you fancy a ride from we're you are that is not too far up highway 11. I will make the exception to join you. :beer3:
