Renting a Moto in Siem Reap
Renting a Moto in Siem Reap
Anyone know the situation with renting a moto in Siem Reap to get around? If so, can it be used to access Angkor Wot complex?

Used to not be possible but now I see "motorbikes for rent" signs everywhere.

Re: Renting a Moto in Siem Reap
i recently did this in around April/May time when i went up to Siem Reap to do some training, when i lived there before early 2013 there were no bikes for rentMoose wrote:Anyone know the situation with renting a moto in Siem Reap to get around? If so, can it be used to access Angkor Wot complex?
now there are hundreds of places renting bikes all the way along the Sivatha Blvd, not cheap though,
you will be looking at a minimum of $10 for an old knackered Honda Airblade,
i found a place that had a new 2015 Honda Click in great nick, but he wanted $14 a day for it, i struck him a deal of renting it for 5 days for $50, its criminal the price but i had a few road trips planned so it was worth it in the end for me and i needed to be mobile in order to get to the boxing gym, he also went out and bought me a brand new full head helmet as well
i took a drive round Angkor one afternoon, didnt buy an entrance ticket i just drove around all the temples without stopping as i had seen them before, i did attempt to buy a ticket but the entrance ticket place isnt where it used to be and i couldnt be arsed trying to find the new place, i did look but had no idea where they meant (id advise pre booking your ticket though an agency to save the hassle)
(the place i rented my bike was right close to the round about near the river, i did notice some places renting decent looking bikes nearer the end heading towards highway 6, id avoid renting from anywhere close to Pub Street, they all looked knackered, dusty and scratched/cracked, i wouldnt even ride them if they paid me)

They have actually become very tough on not letting anyone in without a ticket. I spent the last 7 years around the temples, it was never a problem, but no more....
