You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

I guess I just don't get that. Nearly every other country in the world allows its citizens to leave if they want to, and if they can get a flight - sure, Covid tests, quarantine on return, but can still leave. And not letting travellers in, understandable, many countries are the same. But not allowed to leave? Beats me.
Yep, that has never made any sense to me either. If you return there is a normal quarantine process...so, what's the issue/risk? ..unless you're a nanny state.. :whip:

I expect the travel bans to lift my mid-2021, people are over this shit
I would hazard a guess though that it will be a hell of a lot harder for OZ and NZ gov'ts to make the decision to lift their borders after there efforts in the goal of trying to eradicate the Wuhan virus. Compare that with the state of affairs in Europe, UK and US..

Because if they open borders and there are outbreaks of the virus, they'll think ''what was the point of it all'' before if we now allow this to happen. Big loss of face imo Or maybe they are hanging their hopes on a vaccine to come in time so as to save face.

It is strange. Are there any other countries that are imprisoning their citizens like this?
Guess originally it was a prison.

How are the citizens imprisoned ?

Australia is the 5th biggest country in the world, compare that to the size of the average prison cell :)

I think people need to recognise the seriousness of whats going on globally to be honest

He knows that. It's a windup and defense of his country's policies at the same time. As for the seriousness of the situation, most are fully aware of it. That said, nobody expected a bastion of freedom and democracy (it still is, no?) to implement emigration policies akin to North Korea. Even a kindred nanny state such as Canada did not go that far. I arrived in Mexico 2 weeks ago and despite the problems they are having I can enjoy some fine weather and sit outside almost everywhere. Should arrive back in the great white north just in time for my vaccination.
