Please confirm..eVisa converted to.....

Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

Please confirm..eVisa converted to.....

Post by NokTang »

Please confirm, an eVisa arrival aka a tourist VISA can be converted to a "Business" VISA and allow the applicant to get an all inclusive 12 month extension using an agency such as Money Money near Capital Market. Money is no object/concern, but last postings indicated apx $260.usd if you had the Business VISA so I assume(want to know) how much more if you just have the eVisa etc..

I've been convinced all two of these countries are starting to crack down on the barang/farang just leeching off the infra structure so want to get my Cambodia VISA good for a year to go along with my Thai VISA good for a year. That way, well you get the picture.....

Warmest regards and thanks. (retired, not working)

The e-Visa (electronic tourist visa), and the T-Type (Tourist) Visa, can only be extended once in country for a further month, it can not be converted to an E-Type (Ordinary/Business) Visa.

If you want to get a 12 month extension, you need to apply for the E-Type (Ordinary/Business) Visa on arrival, $35, valid initially for 1 month. You can then extend this for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months (only 6 & 12 month extensions are multi-entry/exit). This can be done at most guest houses/travel agencies/lucky moto, etc. Average cost of a 12 month extension is $285, varies from place to place.

It is possible, the agent will have to take the passport to a border, get it stamped out and then brought back and a E-class visa put in. This is a procedure that is tricky and illegal and so costs quite a few dollars.

I assume said agent would also have to get it stamped in and out of the next country? I guess times like this they need a contact at the airport. I also suppose it's easy enough to just get the business VISA on arrival at the airport but hate lines.

In case I haven't asked before....are the business VISA's available at the border entry points?

Easier and cheaper (and legal) to get an Ordinary Visa on arrival. It only takes 5-10 minutes to get your visa on arrival at PNH, ensure you fill out your visa application form on the plane, and have the exact amount of US cash and your passport pic ready.
