NEWS: E-type (Ordinary) Visa available online

Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

Would be great if they offered extensions too, save so many having to get a new passport before expiry.

A step in the right direction, hopefully it carries on

makes no sense at all to do all the work on the website and make it a big deal if it only applies to a small group of people.

But stranger things have happened in the kingdom of wonder ;-)

I'd hazard a guess that they were excluding Taiwan (I'd guess Taiwain isn't recognised here?) and included only that instead. Should be an easy fix (although, also should've been an easy test)

No, I have been in contact with some Taiwanese passport holders seeking advice on getting Visas, as Cambodia were formally asked not to recognise Taiwan as an Independent country back in 2019.

They were informed a few weeks ago that they would be able to apply online via the official e-Visa website, so it seems more likely that this wasn't a glitch, but a purposeful move.

Seems like a lot of effort to set it up if they are only going to offer it to Taiwanese passport holders, let's see if they make it available to all Nationalities.

Or maybe just a glitch? The intention was to have the menu work one way, someone didn’t test the website/app options before it went live, and now they’re about to get deluged with applications from one nationality only, and complaints from everyone else.

The UK have just implemented a long awaited change to the passenger locator form online process. But it went live while I was out of the UK, and the setup doesn’t work if you don’t receive a text message to activate it.
It’s glitch.

Indeed, a lot of effort. Other countries seem to resolve this issue simply by not calling their embassy in Taiwan "embassy" and by calling Taiwan something like "Chinese Taipei" or "Taiwan (China)" which seems to satisfy all sides.

All this does is tell you "the writings on the wall" when it comes to China's plans for Taiwan, hopefully countries man up at use Taiwan as a line in the sand.

Must have been deleted by the admins/mods, I certainly didn't remove it. No notification to inform me of why it was removed though.

Still limited to TW passport holders, I have not yet received any response to my enquiries. Will update when I have more info.
No need to notify or inform is no post has been removed. The Moderator logs show that no posts in this thread have been touched at all.

Is this the post that ExPenhMan is referring to post474806.html#p474806
where its states, "UPDATE: Appears to be a glitch in the system, currently can only select Taiwan as the "Country / region of birth". I have emailed them to advise them, let's see if it gets fixed."

@Username Taken not that one, it was the first post on page 2, disappeared entirely from the thread and then magically reappeared about 3 hours later. Fuck knows what happened.

Didn't expect a notification if it had been removed, no skin off my nose, admins/mods have the right to do as they see fit...no complaints from me whatsoever.
