Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

I lived there in 2008/09 and head over 2, 3x /year

Wanted to go to Mondolkiri in dec but just didn't make it.
I thought you have never lived in Cambodia. if you want to visit Mondolkiri, it is better to go in June or July. The local said Mondolkiri will look amazing beautiful during rainy season as it will be so greenery.

Mondolkiri is really beautiful. You should come visit. Moreover the road is fully paved. it is only 6 hours drive from pp.

Except the bits that aren't. Like potholes you can breed hippos in during the wet season.

Which road are you talking about ? The road up to Sen Monorom from PP/Snoul is really amazing. It's like you're in a different country. :thumb:

I agree Anchor Moy. The road is really great. I didn't feel tired for 6 hours ride from pp, however we owed China a lots though.

Actually I think you're right - I'm referring to the road alongside the river out through Oudong

I just reread this thread. There are some great photos and information from Samouth. Anyone been up there recently ? It would be good to have an update - things are changing fast. There's also a bigger variety of means of transport to get there, as more people are going now that the road is fixed.

All I can add is that the road is open between Sen Monorom and Banlung and there are regular minivans running. That opens things up a lot for tourists to visit the North-East corner of Cambodia. Sen Monorom used to be a dead end. Now you can visit there on your way to Laos or Vietnam. :thumb:
