Re: My Mondolkiri trip summary
this is a good tip. That orange/red dust gets to me sometimes. Might be worse as mud tho, come to think of it. Maybe October?

Mondolkiri is really beautiful. You should come visit. Moreover the road is fully paved. it is only 6 hours drive from pp.Mr Curious wrote:this is a good tip. That orange/red dust gets to me sometimes. Might be worse as mud tho, come to think of it. Maybe October?

Except the bits that aren't. Like potholes you can breed hippos in during the wet season.Samouth wrote:Moreover the road is fully paved.

Re: My Mondolkiri trip summary
Which road are you talking about ? The road up to Sen Monorom from PP/Snoul is really amazing. It's like you're in a different country.
Re: My Mondolkiri trip summary
I agree Anchor Moy. The road is really great. I didn't feel tired for 6 hours ride from pp, however we owed China a lots though.Anchor Moy wrote:Which road are you talking about ? The road up to Sen Monorom from PP/Snoul is really amazing. It's like you're in a different country.

Actually I think you're right - I'm referring to the road alongside the river out through OudongAnchor Moy wrote:Which road are you talking about ? The road up to Sen Monorom from PP/Snoul is really amazing. It's like you're in a different country.

Re: My Mondolkiri trip summary
I just reread this thread. There are some great photos and information from Samouth. Anyone been up there recently ? It would be good to have an update - things are changing fast. There's also a bigger variety of means of transport to get there, as more people are going now that the road is fixed.
All I can add is that the road is open between Sen Monorom and Banlung and there are regular minivans running. That opens things up a lot for tourists to visit the North-East corner of Cambodia. Sen Monorom used to be a dead end. Now you can visit there on your way to Laos or Vietnam.
