Maps of Cambodia

Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

Nice, thanks that's a pretty decent clear map

Would be cooler if it had the streets underneath but quality nonetheless :thumb:
If you enjoy noise pollution and obnoxious driving practices, Phnom Penh is the place for you!

detailed topographic maps of Cambodia

Post by SINUS »

recently, one of my friends asked me where to buy detailed topographic maps of Cambodia, and today I accidentally discovered this wealth. :)
there are maps of various cities and provinces of Cambodia in English, and they look something like the famous military maps of the USSR General Staff.
anyone who needs, I can share the location. :)

@SINUS , I've moved your post over here to the Maps of Cambodia thread.

Why can't you share the location now? I'm sure there will be plenty of people interested in checking it out (who don't necessarily want to PM you to get the location).

I brought a road map of Cambodia, not up to date but invaluable showing the missus where we are going and why we just can't go from town to town like she wanted to go, great watching her discovering the usefulness of maps and planning of trips away. Many people have never seen a map

I recognize those. The location is IBC/PBC... I used to use these maps nine to eleven years ago. They got them from various ministries (which I also visited to get updated maps). I would maptack them (laminate them) and fold them the military way and go on bike trips for weeks. Sadly they're super inaccurate and not military grade at all! Also, they use a weird grid system and a map scale that's not standard military either. Still useful, but they're totally useless compared to Google maps/mapsme/openstreetmaps, which also all have topography.
