I am in love with Battambang city and province

Battambang is the thir place on my Khmer New Year in-country-trip list. Within my 9 days off from work during Khmer New Year I have been to Sihanoukville for couple days to visits family. Then, I went to Siem Reap and Preah Vihear province. My trip to Siem Reap wasn't really great. There were so many tourists both local and Barang. I didn't go around a lots in Siem Reap as I have been there twice already. I have seem most of the temples. However the trip to Banteay Srie temple was nice. I didn't manage to visit there for my first and second time trip in Siem Reap. It is a unique and well-preserved temple. All the carvings are there. Apart from the temples Siem Reap, I went to Preah Vihear and Kor Ker temples in Preah Vihear province. It was indeed great. I like these two temples a lot. I am so happy that I managed to visit these two amazing temples. Anyway, right now I am in Battambang city. So far I really like it comparing to other cities in the kingdom. It made me feel so different. It is so relaxing and peaceful. I should have been here before. I haven't been to any tourism sites in Battambang province yet, will do the whole day trip tomorrow, I really enjoy being and wandering around in the city.

You must go to Phnom Sampeou.

Killing caves of Phnom Sampeau

The killing caves of Phnom Sampeau are caves in Phnom Sampeau, a hill 7 miles (11 km) southwest of Battambang in Cambodia. Major atrocities occurred there during the Khmer Rouge in the 1970s. Many victims were bludgeoned to death and then tossed into holes which served as the skylights to the caves.[1] Men and women were placed in separate caves and clothes in another.[1] Today there is a large glass memorial in the cave next to the skulls and bones and a golden reclining Buddha. It is reached via a staircase. A memorial, assembled from cyclone fencing and chicken wire, contains human bones at the base of the stairway.[2][3]

I also didn't get the Evil part. Please explain. I will surly visit that mountain and also check the killing cave. I will also go to bannon temple and ride the bamboo train.

Do a google image search for Phnom Sampeau. Some really nice pics.

Interesting mountain, which I walked to the top off. (You can take a moto, but it's pretty steep).

I think I will walk. I am taking Tuk Tuk tomorrow. I didn't expect that I would like this province this much.

You should come. It is a nice city and the accommodation here is really cheap. You can get a single bed room for $3 per night and foods here are also not so expensive. If I have time I will write about my trip summary.
