I am in love with Battambang city and province
Re: I am in love with Battambang city and province
Yes i also climbed to the top of the mountain. I didn't take motor. I walked via the paved road and went down via the stair. Not many people knew that there is another road they can climb up the mountain without using the steep stair which could make them so much exhausted.Username Taken wrote:Do a google image search for Phnom Sampeau. Interesting mountain, which I walked to the top off. (You can take a moto, but it's pretty steep).

Right. The roads in btb are now mostly paved. Yes i have been to those temples. It looks great.phuketrichard wrote:head out to the lake;
when i first visited in 2008 the road was all dirt form the turn off, now its nicely paved,
great place to relax and have a light meal ( there are food sellers there) an fills up on weekends with locals.
Got a history to it as well if u care to look it up.
There some nice smaller temples around Batt ( within 20 kms or so) an see very very few visitors.
take some nice dirt roads thru small villages and u feel like u stepped back in time.
Road to the border used to be all dirt , now fully paved and an easy 90 minute drive.

Banteay Srey is a really beautiful temple. It is so much well-preserved compare to other temples in Siem Reap. The road to the temple is really good now. It is easily accessible by motorbike and car. You don't have to take helicopter like before. when i was there there were so many tourists both barangs and khmer. It was hard for me to take pictures without having people in my pictures.Bitte_Kein_Lexus wrote:Banteay Srey is quite nice indeed. Is the road good now? When I went there a few years ago the roads were bad and it didn't get many tourists. I was all alone except when a helicopter landed with a couple of tourists! But locals told me the road was going to get paved soon.
I've been to Battambang three or four times and I always enjoy myself. It's a nice town with some good countryside to explore.

Glad I went before then! Haha. Also glad I went to Preah Vihear before the road was built. A few other temples I'm keeping "secret" lest they get overrun with tourists. It's only a matter of time I guess....

hmmm
Batt-2 hours to Thailand
another 2 to Trat an than off on a boat to Koh Kood; ( Koh Kut) closer to Cambodia much nicer than Koh Chang an smaller
Ko Kut is one of the lesser-known Thai islands and is a place to consider if you're looking to really escape from the world for a few days. The island is only accessible via a ferry from Trat and is home to a few scattered and quiet resorts which travelers say are absolutely empty during summertime.
or Koh Mak
The island of Koh Mak, lies a few kilometres south of the larger, better known island of Koh Chang. But whilst Koh Chang is developing into a pretty busy island with all the trappings of unrestrained development – beer bars, nightclubs, roadside shophouses blocking the sea views and sprawling beach areas, Koh Mak remains a world apart. Koh Mak definitely has the edge if you are looking for a tropical, escape from it, laze away the days type of beach holiday. five local families who still own the vast majority of the land on Koh Mak have managed to keep developers at bay

I wish too, but I will need a friend who knows there very well to guide me. I really like to explore what I never knowSamouth wrote:You should have been to the outskirts of the city. It is really beautiful and moreover there are so many places to go which are really close to the city such as Bamboo Train riding. I rode the bambook train. It was so shaky, but it was so much fun though. If considered it as a real train riding, it would be my first time to ride the train. Anyway you still can go there any time you want as it is in our kingdom.prahkeitouj wrote:I went to Battambong about 4days in 2011. but for working, not trip. I didn't see anything besides Sangkei tributary after water festival, dirty. However, I like that province so much because even dry seanson or rainy season, the trees and plans look green ever :-):-)

having a guide is the direct opposite of exploringI wish too, but I will need a friend who knows there very well to guide me. I really like to explore what I never know
