My loner life. A travel blog.

Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

I'm shooting a video with this Chinese guitarist over the next two days.

With the trip inching closer I’ve started watching the flights I’l be taking for any signs of ongoing, predictable cancellations or delays as the airlines struggle to entice staff back into the industry after layoffs due to the recent great sickening. My first flight to Bali from Perth appears to be leaving on most days at least, but hasn’t managed to get away close to on time being anywhere from two to five hours late for departure. This isn’t a huge imposition as far as life, love and my place in the universe is concerned, but means it will be a late arrival and foot search for the hotel when I do get there.

I was thinking there should be a day each year at airports where travelers throw their airline tickets into a hat, then take turns at a lucky dip to see where they’ll be going. Jetting off to an unknown destination sounds exciting I guess until you get the guy’s ticket who was going to sunny South Sudan.

My shorts remaining fixed somewhere around my hips will be challenged under the strain of carrying a camera body and two lenses in them on departure unfortunately as a 7kg carry-on limit isn't going to cut it this trip - I'm l'm loathed to travel with anything other than a day pack. Don’t judge a man for wearing cargo shorts around Southeast Asia or while boarding a plane, he may just need to carry things!

India is back on the radar today instead of sticking solely to the pancake trail of SEA simply because Scoot are offering a flight from India to Perth for $AUD250 which is nuts. I’ve always found it hard to turn down a bargain airfare but I’ll have to pull the trigger on it in the next day or two as these offers rarely last long - maybe these old bones could do one more budget India trip.

I'm shooting a video for a Chinese metal rock guitarist over the next two days (pictured above) which leads up to the trip nicely. :)

She's a great gal and a lot of fun. I should have the video edited and uploaded by Thursday, I hope.
