Re: Kampot is amazing
Hey little salary Kampot is really nice. i would suggest you to stay in the city as it is cheaper and then hop on Tuk Tuk to green house. If you know how ot swim, green house is the best place to go for that. It has the best spot of the river. Also travelling in Kampot is pretty cheap compare to other cities. I loved spending time there. BTW, if you have never experienced staying in backpacker place, you should try one. Not all backpackers are stink with dreadlocks. However, if you are not travelling on budget, there are some fancy hotels with pool in Kampot too. No worries, to travel alone, as you will always meet someone and if you are single you might meet the man of your life. Good luck.prahkeitouj wrote:I don't travel anywhere almost half year. That is good advice. I want to go there with my female friends but most of us can't swim. BTW I can't go alone because it is such a lonely time to go somewhere alone and not know what to do something alone.Samouth wrote:Hey little salary Kampot is really nice. i would suggest you to stay in the city as it is cheaper and then hop on Tuk Tuk to green house. Believe me, for travelling, you will never be alone. You will always meet people. Also if you can't swim, you can tray kayaking, but make sure you put the life jacket on and don't do the kayaking alone.prahkeitouj wrote:That is good advice. I have found it is much more pleasureable to travel alone. If you travel with someone or a partner, you are always speaking and doing things with that one person. When traveling by yourself not only does it give you the freedom and courage to strike up a conversation with total strangers, but it gives total strangers a better opportunity to communicate with you. Think about it,,, who wants to butt into a conversation being had between two other people.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

I advise AGAINST staying in Dorm rooms , there is no reason to and the savings ( a few $ at most) do not outweigh the negative of trying to sleep in a room with 3-5 other strangers and worry about ur personal belongings,
I too also try and travel alone as much as possible
If u cant swim thna make sure if u do go Kayaking you go with an experienced kayaker and tell them you cant swim!

Re: RE: Re: Kampot is amazing
@Richard, i think you are just so negative about backpackers. I wouldn't scare to stay in dorm room. I always stayed in dorm room when i travelled. It is nice to talk to people and learn from each other. I said it once and i will say it again, not all backpackers are bad people. Just avoid those meth-head one.phuketrichard wrote:Samouth wrote:Maybe little salary is not an adventure-type traveler. Yes, it is good point to travel alone. But I'm the one who don't know how to start a conversation. Honestly even I travel alone I still not talk to people.Duncan wrote:Samouth wrote:prahkeitouj wrote:That is good advice. Re: RE: Re: Kampot is amazing
I never travel alone even I went abroad I still had friends or sister with me. I'm a kind of an quiet person who don't like to talk with strangers. I never stay dorm room, it might be cheaper than guesthouse but I'm not sure if I like to share room or bed, I think I can't sleep when any noise wake me up while I'm sleeping.Samouth wrote:Maybe little salary is not an adventure-type traveler.
