Hanoi Road... well... Hanoi avenue of torture...

Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

Hanoi Road... well... Hanoi avenue of torture...

DON'T GO THAT WAY!

Seriously.

I used to live up that road, and it was never in "great" condition... but generally in "ok" condition. Some jackass of a tuktuk decided it was a faster route to my house than taking Russian Blvd. yesterday. Worst tuktuk ride of my life... pretty sure it compressed 3 vertebrae. It made the road to Siem Reap seem like a perfectly maintained freeway.

I think it now contains more potholes than the whole of the rest of Cambodia combined. If you have to go near there, I highly suggest an alternative route. Even one that takes you out of your way will be faster.

Tell me about it.

Some twatflannel thought it would be a good idea to remove the tarmac and pavements several months ago. Meanwhile the Choy Changwa cul-de-sac is sealed and lit even though nobody lives or works there yet.
Scarier than malaria.
