Giant Ibis SV - PP 6 Hrs 20 Mins - Ouch
The was the 9:30 too. Not the 1:30 that runs into the factory shift change & Rush Hr. It all started badly when 15 mins into it the driver stops for gas. A Khmer guy gets out, hits the head, slowly shops for goodies, & makes a call for 10 mins while we're all waiting for him. We all hate the psychotic/suicidal drivers, but this guy was afraid to pass unless he had a km open. He must've had an accident recently. I'm forking out for a cab when I get back from BKK - no doubt.

I think it is one of the best bus company in Cambodia. i always wanted to try its service, however every time i called all the seats fully booked.

Mekong express has nice minivans, a bit more expensive at 12/ticket. Seat 1A (next to driver) and 2a/2b are the nicest.

I have taken 'em maybe 40 X. The previous worst was < 5 hrs arriving at Rush Hr.. I stopped taking Mekong Express because they didn't go past PNH & started dropping off at O'Russei Mrkt. That added 40 mins to the trip to the Riverside as traffic that route was always brutal.. Now Russei Blvd is a mess from PNH to Norodom. They might be a better choice until that's cleared up.. GI is $11 now. ME $12/10 depending on your ethnicity.

Was the road busier than normal ?.
I really don't understand why the very low moving heavy vehicles on the highway all the way down to Snooky stay in the middle of the lane all the time instead of moving over towards the side of the road, which would then allow a lot more space for overtaking vehicles.
I've used Giant Ibis on both my trips to Snooky, 4 1/2 hrs last year, 5hrs this year, from leaving their riverside office in PP to arriving in Snooky.

Re: Giant Ibis SV - PP 6 Hrs 20 Mins - Ouch
There are more and more companies providing a "VIP" minivan 1 ticket-1 seat service between PP and S'ville. Logically the competition between companies should lead to better service - instead it seems to be getting worse: the departure time is later and later, more stops to pick up people and things on the way. Last week it took us 5 hrs to get to PP and then we got a half hour detour through PP traffic to Olympic Stadium before getting dropped at the Night Market.
I would almost go back to using Sorya buses again, but I think they dump you at Vic Hill in S'ville, where the tuktuk mafia are particularly annoying. And I haven't been on a Sorya bus for ages, so maybe I've just forgotten how much worse it was in the "old days" before VIPs came along.
(Though I do remember taking a Sorya bus to S'ville with a huge hole in the floor where my feet were supposed to go - it was raining like hell and the floor got flooded. And then there was the time when we got flooded from above by the broken A/C ...)Yeah, so maybe not.

I've taken Giant Ibus a bunch from Snookyville to PP and its always been good. A friend on Monday took it from PP to SKV and said it was great.

I just took them today and it was 4.5 hrs again. Yeah I know I said I'd take a taxi, but I had to hit SOS Clinic as Imodium, Zithromax, & Codeine were doing nothing for this bout of food poisoning 3 days in. This guy wasn't afraid to pass yet he didn't do anything stupid.
