Re: Giant Ibis Bus, The Ride From Hell.
For once I won't have a go at sailorman, as I have been with scary drivers before and it is perfectly legitimate to discuss other than VB, bus companies shortcomings.
It takes special skills to be fast, smooth and yet cautious on Cambodia's roads... If you have found a taxi of your liking then all is to for the best as it has always been the best option to do the PP-SHV journey other than driving your own car.
The shortcut way upon arrival you describe would be the angkor factory to psar leu downhill street I suppose ? I would personally think that if this road isn't suitable for a large bus it should be OK for a 10/15 sweaters like giant ibis operate. However as you say I rarely see any public transport using it so it can't be the normal route.
I also wish to use the occasion and slightly derail the thread to ask if anyone ever tried the EMS minibus service yet ?
I think it was last year than the Cambodian post office administration bought themselves a modern mini bus fleet (same kind as GI) to transport both passengers and I guess, express parcels.
One could think that divers might be civil servants and less erratic than some who find jobs in the private sector even when they clearly shouldn't by driving passengers. Just asking as one could also be very wrong on this

Re: Giant Ibis Bus, The Ride From Hell.
Why ?
I saw their buses which seem comparable to the ones from the other companies.
There might be less backpackers passengers and more Cambodians, which I personally prefer as long as there isn't a tv blasting shite local series or music.

And where to buy tickets ?
Re: Giant Ibis Bus, The Ride From Hell.
EMS stands for Express Mail Service. It runs by Cambodia post. I thought to mini bus use to carry mails and goods. I am not sure if that is passenger van. BTW EMS is doing various businesses, also has hotels in Phnom Penh.Anchor Moy wrote:Lol - misunderstanding. I meant what does EMS mean ? What's the company name ?Barang_doa_slae wrote:Why ?

Sinn: I do have a truck and used to drive to PP, but after twice having stoned out drivers of container trucks try to kill me by two of them passing on curves I stopped driving highway #4 (Death Highway From Hell.)
