First time visit to Cambodia - advice

Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

exactly, when buying coke that is what you would do. So if somebody is selling you smack instead of coke then then you would say no after not getting a numb mouth. If the customer buys it without testing it then why not just give him chalk? Why pay for heroin?
Can somebody expain why a scammer would do that?

Whats the best place in Sihanoukville or Kampot for a poker game/tournament anyone?
When you get here, or just beforehand, check out Sihanoukville Expats and Locals FB for poker games, or just ask on there if there's nothing posted. Shouldn't be difficult. Tons of casinos. Loads of players. It will be Xmas and busy.

No idea if they play poker in Kampot, or if there's a casino ? Anyone ?

Bokor Hill has a casino and a five star hotel next door. Take a jacket it gets chilly.

Yeah, but it's an expensive, gigantic, ugly, bizarre, misplaced 'white elephant' only about 1/4 full (at best) of (mostly) Chinese tourists. It's worth going 'up the hill' for a day visit - see the ruins - but I don't think you'd want to stay there. It did pay for the nice road though... even though there's a small toll fee.
You could be next.

The small 1000reil for a moto is well worth the use of a good road, and the delights of Bokor.

actually the casino fills up when the tour bus's arrive in the afternoon from SNV and PP.
We had a great room a few years ago, only $40/night with a buffet breakfast
the 32 kms road is amazing and the views on a clear day are nice
