Driving from Sihanoukville to Kampot

Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

There's only one way to get there unless you've got a boat or a lot of time..

Well i drove to Kampot, was a lovely pleasant drive, although make sure you do it in the daytime, all the bugs come out at night, that wasnt nice at all haha
ended up driving to Kep beach one day as well, the road from Kampot to Kep seems pretty much brand new, was a great drive and doesnt take too long either, if anyone gets the chance its definitely worth doing

Had a mate do it a couple of months ago on his clapped out little Honda Step. Just over 1&1/2 hrs each way. He said it was a great run. He's a Pom though. Not much of a road trip for an Aussie mate! :stir:

I've ridden motorcycle's for 54 years, all over America, Canada, Mexico, Alaska, the Arctic, Singapore/Malaysia/Thailand-5 months on a new Harley, and I've stopped riding my bike in Cambodia as its too dangerous. Until there is some kind of traffic enforcement and the container/beer trucks are taken off of Highway #4 (Death Highway To Hell), the roads and streets of Cambodia and specially Snookyville are death traps. I love riding bike, but its not enjoyable in Cambodia.

Jamie: Be very careful and always check your 6.
