Re: Covid and Returning "Home" - Should I Stay or Should I Go ?
Many people act like the government had access to some sort of secret info about the virus that meant they knew all along how it would play out but decided to screw up anyway for shits and giggles.
When the numbers starting skyrocketing in April my old boss was fuming at how long they’d took to go into lockdown, and yet that same person kept the office open and sent his own kids to school every day up right up until it closed.

If I remember correctly, a lot of people in Wuhan wanted to get out. Nobody knew what the mortality rate was going to be. SARS was 20%. MERS was 30%. Covid-19 is a pussy cat by comparison; lucky us.
Had the virus been contained in Wuhan and had the mortality rate had been 20%, would he be coming out now to praise and thank the UK Government for saving his ass? I doubt it - he would probably be moaning about not getting enough benefits payments.
I made a choice in March to bolt from Mexico to the UK, a snap decision and one I don't regret, despite walking into a lockdown and a country drenched in the virus. I also made a decision to make my way back here in July, a decision I am so happy about now. Has either of those decisions been a disaster they would my disasters, I own them.
I am sick of hearing people trying to blame others for decisions that they made themselves, which didn't pan out to perfection.
Grow the fuck up.

Bravo! For standing up to the insanity.
I’d gotten a lot of flack by some members on CEO for bringing over missus to the US. I own the decision. If anything bad happens, it’s on me.
In hindsight, it’s the best decision I ever made. Missus is MUCH more into virus protection than I ever was. Protectiveness is just naturally who she is. Everything from the outside gets a thorough spray over. She reminds me to wear a mask, hand sanitizer all the time when out. Shower and sterilize everything as the first thing coming back from work. She only goes out when I go out. Limited/No contact with others.
When the vaccine goes to the general public, she’ll probably make sure she’s first in line. And she has a vaccine fund so her family goes to get the vaccine when it becomes available in the Kingdom of Wonder.

I am so glad I stayed.
Once you've read the dictionary, every other book is just a remix.
