This is a very relaxed border crossing. Easy to cross with a bike. That's a good area of Vietnam to visit to have a break from the heat. Good road south to Buon Ma Thuot and on to Dalat. Some countries don't need visas now for Vietnam.
Closest Vietnamese consulate to Ban Lung is in Pakse.

Going to Hoi An is much easier, closer and I like the beach there better than Da Nang too.
