Back to Siem Reap after 2.5 years
Re: Back to Siem Reap after 2.5 years
Well, I guess the main complaint is that there's very little info about Siem Reap and maybe too many details about very mundane stuff.
Anyway, it's still "a good effort".

Thanks for the report Hanno, I always like to keep an eye on Siem Reap developments from afar as it's one of the few places in the region I'd consider living if I had to relocate.
Yes sir, I can boogie, I can boogie, boogie, boogie all night long.

Great report Hanno, encouraging me to take the family up to SR for a little getaway, haven't been there for about 6-7 years and didn't really like the place that much on my previous visits.

OMG it looks so nice and clean everywhere, not only in Siem Reap but also in this thread. What a great way to start a new week. Siem Reap reminds me of the second largest city in my home country. A bit provincial, but still with plenty of cultural offerings to make it a fun place to visit. But I've seen that some locals up there can be quite rough in their ways, so to me overall it feels a little less cosmopolitan in the long run.

A really insightful and interesting report, thanks for sharing. We will be there in October for at least a few days and this has made me look forward to it even more - great!

Wonderful report Hanno, it's great that you finally made the trip.
Those extras on your ticket, were they a combination of the internal and then the international flight?
Love the in-car art, did make me laugh. Also the restaurant recommendations especially the Italian one is noted.
All in all, Siem Reap suddenly has become a viable option for a long weekend away from PP.

Hello Doc, yes the extras were a combination of domestic and international flights.Doc67 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 01, 2022 3:42 pm Wonderful report Hanno, it's great that you finally made the trip.

I loved the art too, cannot be angry with my Princess.
The Mamma Shop has always been excellent and I was very happy to see that the quality of the food did not suffer during Covid.
I got a little tired of Siem Reap before Covid: traffic, too many Chinese, etc. But credit where credit is due: the town has improved a lot.
