I understand the point you are making, okay. But what in California did you experience that led to your conclusion about its electricity infrastructure? An earthquake?

In California it’s heat waves. In Texas it’s heat waves and cold fronts. Power grids can’t handle the amount of electricity used to cool/heat homes and businesses.

Yeah the rolling blackouts during extreme heat. Some counties worse than others.
But on a daily, individual, level (and maybe I'm just lucky), I've experienced far more power outages in Cambodia than in California (e.g., during random thunder storms). Again, maybe I'm just lucky but that's why the statement got my attention.

My entire duration in San Francisco, I had power outages lasting as long as 2 hours almost every 3-4 days or so, invariably blamed on some "natural" disaster, "climate change" or what may have you (what I suppose one might call "weather"), but in reality California is well-beyond electric capacity as the bankrupt, criminally negligible state utility Pacific Gas & Electric has failed to upgrade stations and the state itself has failed to integrate regional grids (SoCal has the equally shitty Edison), so it has become so bad that restaurants will eat by candlelight and generators are a booming business.

(It also doesn't seem to have gotten better)

I find that during the rodvrosa season that the electricity has been far more consistent here (just outside krong Siem Reap city limits) during storms than it ever was in California: Too hot? PG&E cut. Climate change? "Scheduled outage". Earthquake? Rain storm? Fire? You already know. If PG&E had an excuse to cut power regardless of how flimsy, they will cut power.
