Will Brexit hurt you in ways you havent thought of

I'm not sure why you think people have been "brain-washed" into thinking anything.
So far to many outside observers it seems like an unmitigated disaster.
I really hope it won't be but I read all the reports and there has been nothing positive so far.
Wishful thinking doesn't count. Time will tell. 8-)
The good thing is that not everyone has been brainwashed and the Remainers who have not been do put forward sensible points that can be addressed.

The ones who are brainwashed believe anything negative about Brexit such as the "not being able to live in the villa I have just bought in Spain", which is of course completely untrue. Only brainwashed people would believe it when a quick bit of research will show otherwise.

The problem is a bit like the one Trump has with the media. News services like the BBC are very pro remain and load their reports accordingly. This gives the impression that what they say is the truth. There was a time when the BBC reported news, now they invent it.

If the Remainers had accepted the result of the referendum and got on with lobbying the various governments for a great deal, we would have been sitting pretty by now. And then we have the likes of doom and gloom Carney (great friend of George Osborne) doing his utmost to talk down the economy rather than keeping his mouth shut and advising the government rather than the press.

Interesting to see that the UK is well ahead of Germany, France and Italy in growth. Germany almost went into recession. It would seem that the EU are now facing up to the fact that by trying to punish the UK, they are hurting themselves more.

Is that the kind of argument we are down to here where you need to accuse your detractors of being brainwashed? Like I said, time will tell. Keep wishing.

la8rat, I am neither naive nor ginger. Lets not make this personal. Just explain to me how people like J R Mogg, Iain Duncan Smith, Michael Gove and all the Westminster Elite who voted constantly against The Minimum Wage and workers rights, can now put themselves forward of Men of the people !!!!!!!!!!!. The whole thing is absurd. By the way I am grey and I voted for my Grand Childs future NOT MINE. Pity the pink rinse brigade didn't do the same. It's not their future.

I don't know what else to call it John.

When someone would rather believe something that is so obviously untrue, then what do you call it? I have read and heard so many claims that "X" is/will happen because someone told me so, when just a quick check will reveal the opposite. People who are brainwashed are incapable of seeing anything other that what they have been told to believe even when faced with the facts.

I voted remain as we have property in Spain and enjoy a few months there each year but over the last two years have researched, listened to debates and taken a good hard look at what could be, to the point where I now believe that we are better off out. In the short term a little pain but beyond that we are free of the Brussels political machine. For me it is mainly about the politics and not the economics but there is no reason why we cannot have a very bright economic future out of the EU.

Insulting people makes you look like the idiot and makes people ignore anything credible you may say after. Something for you to think about maybe.

A lot of brexit is about deregulating the financial industry. That small number of polititians who were so keen of brexit to begin with are heavily invested in this industry and stand to make a fortune out of brexit. To believe they are not acting out of self interest and are acting for the benefit of the country and it's people is ludicrous.

There are many reasons why people voted for or against but one thing i know for sure is that hardly anyone thought about it or cared until they were told to.

It hurt when I went out to eat at my local Italian Restaurant. I was told the whole world was laughing at us, not with us. When I asked the waiter what was the Brexit Pizza, he said " We promise it comes with everything but it actually comes with nothing and it's also very expensive and very hard to digest ". It cost £9. But I did get a Bollocks to Brexit sticker. One Brexit voter in the Resaurant ate it then complained it was horrible because they knew what they were ordering. :o
