Will Brexit hurt you in ways you havent thought of

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

I can't see the problem, though I have not studied it extensively; in the old days the commonwealth was a very robust trading bloc.
brexit is going to happen and it will provide many new opportunities.
europe is not in very good shape financially.
the yanks will soon stop providing security.

forgive my naive comments, but i cannot see how the short term pain will not be a good trade for longer term independence.
Wow, normally Quanah Parker him talk in mysterious and incomprehensible ways but this time he talk very good sense.

It often takes someone who is not directly involved to see a clearer picture and this comment puts it clearly.

No longer moding has opened you up to a whole new perspective.. .................Clarity.

We only produce 60% of our own food, so it's not sustainable.
We only produce 60% of our own food for blindingly obvious reasons, also you should read past the first line of the page you Googled.

People have become used to out of season fruit and veg grown under Spain's poly tunnels. We import subsidised food from the EU cheaper than we can grow it ourselves (CAP) and there are various EU quotas on how much and what we can produce.

In the 1980s we produced over 80% of our own food so if we start to make do with seasonal fruit and veg, self sustainability is not an issue.

Well you will have an army of idle hands for market gardening and a greatly reduced population when all the eastern Europeans go home.

When i lived in uk food rationing was still a memory for older folks and allotments were still a thing.

Cuba managed to vastly increase thei food production when the russians left and i have no doubt uk will too.

It will be quite disruptive for some time. But so was entry into tje common market back in the day.

Farmers from all member countries still complain of eu stifling their production.

Yes, indeed. Confusion in the translation. We use the equivalent of jet and turboprop.

Just to confirm.....A turbo prop is a jet engine.

The blades are on the outside as opposed to a jet where they are on the inside. Otherwise, same principle.

I do love most brits for their humour, except those that seem to have grown up in the gutter and celebrate their hooligan inspired culture in foreign countries around the globe. I do feel a lot of sympathy for those living on the island, particulary if they live in northern island which will be most affected by BREXIT. Noone really seems to see a light at the end of the tunnel and my gut feeling is that the gamblers in the british gov. wait till the very last moment to avert the inevitable CRASH. When that happens it won't take long for the public to realise that they got f...d by some really evil gangsters that plan to turn britain into a tax free, money laundering safe haven. If you look how the Bank of England treats Venezuela of which it holds substantial physical amount of gold it makes you wonder how secure such a post Brexit Britain will be. The Bank of England refuses to send the Gold it holds back to Venezuela and therefore admits that it's not an independent, trustworthy institution. Why should wealthy foreigners trust such a country in the future ?

British people have been lied to and many still believe that even an unconditional no-deal Brexit would be good for them Well, they haven't read the news lately. The list of Companies leaving Britain is getting longer every day.

Here is a recent analysis of what British Gov. Representatives have to offer Expats living in a EU Country.

https://www.madeiraislandnews.com/2019/ ... deira.html

Why did the ambassador even care to meet the Expats ?

I sincerely hope that my beloved Britain will come to his senses and remain. Please !

You may just as well quote the Guardian. What a joke.

Also, the Indi requires you to register or disable your ad blocker which I will not do.

However, the pound has surged and the EU are up to their usual tricks of trying to reverse the referendum. They are scared stiff of the UK doing well and other countries following.

Did I tell you my share portfolio value went up over 3% yesterday. Sold some builders shares and made a nice bit of money. Beats the hell out of crying into an empty beer glass telling some worn out bar girl how unfair the world is and why can't we have Comrade Jeremy as PM. (enter Venezuela mk2)

Just thought I would add my own thought of what will happen.

There will be no Brexit. MPs will renege on democracy and vote for a second referendum. After a violent Project Fear campaign, members of the public will narrowly vote to remain. (a narrower margin than the vote to leave).

R.I.P Democracy. Long live activism and Project Fear.
