What is Musk up to?

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

Since the ability to understand what a "double standard" is here is the definition and an example.

A double standard (or one rule me me and one rule for thee) is when we treat people or a situation differently when they should be treated exactly the same way.

eg.
You and a friend enter a store and both steal the same item. Your friend is arrested and charged with theft whilst you are let off with a warning.

Now, whataboutism is bringing up an unrelated but similar topic to distract from the discussion at hand.

Since all parties mentioned are actively engaged in political influence, albeit some do it through a complex web of NGOs to hide the true extent of their influence whilst Musk is doing it without the cloak of anonymity, they are all trying to influence.

I don't trust this guy, he calls himself the founder of Tesla, but he was just an early investor who ultimately drove out the original inventors in a rude manner. Eventually, he had to settle several defamation suits to silence them. No one knows exactly the bribe he gave them to keep quiet.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... cated.html

He's basically a switcheroo.. so watch out.

And no one is going to Mars... it's just a giant, polluting money-making scam..

Personally it smells like your typical post-modern narcissist neo type.. just with a lot of cash sorry to say

Gemini who is the founder of tesla?
Tesla was founded by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning in 2003. Elon Musk joined as an early investor and later became the CEO.

Grock who is the founder of tesla?
Answer
The founder of Tesla is Elon Musk. While Tesla was originally incorporated by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning in 2003, Elon Musk became the company's most prominent figure after he joined as chairman and product architect, leading the company to its current status in the electric vehicle industry.

Do real sensible people really think that Elon Musk is a good thing for American/world politics?

No doubt he's good at business and sending rockets to space, but able to brazenly dictate policy to congress (which now appears to have failed) is, well, loon territory tbh. Elect him, or tell him to STFU.

It's not a left/right issue really, but common sense.
I can not see how EM is good for US/world politics. Why he even wants to be there is anyone's guess but there he is and loud about it.
Gyro Gearloose for president next term, if not before.

I think Elon can be kind of cool, or something.
But I've blocked him on X, can't stand his instigating bullshit all the time.

He's human after all, and just as sensitive to conspiracies, fake news and other crap as other humans.
Except in his case he has enough political power for one individuals crazy bullshit to become policy.

That is a bit scary in itself, whether you happen to align with his current ambitions or not.

Like saying Ray Croc didn’t found McDonalds. Technically true, but irrelevant. Croc took the name and the Speedee system and made it into what McDonalds is today.

Same as Musk. People don’t buy boring looking electric cars with low range, and nowhere to go. Musk was the moneybags, visionary, and chief cheerleader. He created a following that funded Tesla for years (Tesla lost money for a decade) as the company build a supercharger network, battery systems, controversial vertically integrated cars.

I mean, the thread is dedicated to Elon Musk, so mentioning other meddling billionaires is quite literally "bringing up an unrelated but similar topic to distract from the discussion at hand."

Thus your position is:-

It is ok when ultra wealthy individuals are involved in US politics as long as they and the policies they promote align with my world view.

Thus, you just don't like Musk doing the same thing.

Can you show me where I said that I was okay/against billionaires meddling in politics? I said that you were off-topic. I didn't give my position on anything. I think you may have gone from whataboutism to creating a straw man.
