What's happening in your life?

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

I've been possessed by the spirit of a spiteful Japanese WWII pilot who lost his life at Pearl Harbor...

Can't be forgiven for ending sonny boy's life prematurely ...

Everyone is scared, especially the women... You guys got it easy! 😂

I've taken quite a few photos of Star over the years which has shown how frequently she has to put up with distractions - it goes with the territory, she says.

The guy passed out on the ground was all up in my friend's face being a complete ass which saw the need for someone to have a chat to him. He then fell unconscious with medics and police called.
Did you spark him out, KFH?! :x
We aren't sure what caused his need for a lay down, reggie. Maybe all that pissing people off takes a bit of effort - it was also pretty windy yesterday. :hattip:

All settled in … good to be back at the old Dad-Pad numero uno … but sad news … the night shift Bible-thumper security guy (who spoke good English) who loved to educate me up on all things Khmer no longer works the best … hope he reached his dream of becoming a full-time preacher.

TCAS display- Skies are busy. Apparently, this year is properly back to pre-covid traffic. Already- Slot delays, galore, and we’ve only just got started for the summer season.

Still some night routes, to the Aegean and Turkey, though.

How do you like Turkey these days? I am contemplating a visit this fall on the way to PP. Last visit, 1987! Liked it a lot then, wondering if I still would.

My first visit to Turkey was in 1981/82, to Izmir. Back then it was a quiet little place, as I recall. Flying in and out the other night was quite an interesting contrast. I’ve only ever really spent sufficient time (to form an opinion) in Antalya, summer of 2022. I think I’d choose Greece, or some of the islands.

Of course, from a professional point of view, flying in to Turkey was pure comedy. The First Officer looked at me and asked why the Air traffic controllers were shouting on the radio. Too much Turkish coffee, maybe?

I also went to Izmir and further down the coast to another small (then) place called Bodrum. Fond memories of downing a cold Efes whilst watching the sunset. Good grub too. I actually found I liked Turkey better than Greece back then. Now, who knows?

I caught the train yesterday showing my valid ticket to staff as I entered Perth Station to walk the few hundred meters via the underground tunnel/walkway connecting Perth Station to Perth Underground where I need to get on.

Halfway through the tunnel/walkway train security have put up tape and are stopping everyone checking for valid tickets which I thought was overkill and inconsiderate as lines started to form and people ran the risk of missing connections.

Holding my ticket up to one of the security guys I say “Is this what it’s got to where you need to inconvenience people when they’ve already proven they’re in possession of a valid ticket?” His reply “Yep!” But he doesn’t inspect or look at my ticket focussing on people behind me.

I say, “Look at my ticket then.” He says, “Move on, mate.” I say, “No, you disrespectful fuck, if you’re going to make me line up to prove I have a ticket, you are going to inspect it.” I convey my displeasure in a rather confronting manner and I’m immediately surrounded by a semi circle of six security guards trying to be intimidating.

The security guy in a poor attempt at a commanding voice returns with “We are able to restrict your travel if you create a disturbance, mate.” I look him square in the eye and respond “Restrict my travel, I fuckin’ dare you!!” I wait then repeat myself “I dare any one of you to stop me. Go on, restrict my travel.” Nothing. I turn and walk away.

If you’re going to make me line up to prove I have a train ticket after already having done so, you’re going to actually check it.

I don't know what it is with that job, but it seems to attract society's biggest wankers.

I've been in two (from memory) confrontations with security dicks. I respect that they have a job to do even if it is ridiculous sometimes, but there's a respectful way to speak to people, and then there's the wrong way.

I'm generally compliant enough, I might mentally roll my eyes at it but I don't make a a scene unless some self important little fuckwit starts barking directions at me when I did nothing to deserve it.
