What's happening in your life?
Re: What's happening in your life?
I don't know what has got into me, I decided to clean the air filter of the bike, that extended to strip the carb, clean and rebuild.
One thing I am not is a machanic by any means at all, I am that of a humble painter and would trade with my friends at home, they would do machanical things for me if I kneded , in return I would paint for them.
But I suppose it's not too late to learn, so I looked on the internet and away I went, all good was the result.

Always "hope" but never "expect".
Re: What's happening in your life?
I’ve been learning a new language for 3 months and doing more physical exercises to get fit for the time when travelling is re-opened.
Come to think of it, it’s not been so bad not being able to travel but if it lasts until 2021 it will start to become a real nuisance. Hopes are high that October will be the month of return of a more balanced look of governments on the economy which was sacrificed.

Air Asia X, the international division of Air Asia, has closed reservations for all flights in its global distribution systems until October 31, 2021.

That is the reason i am learning a new language, to diversify my travel interests from usual SEA routes. Some countries in the world cannot afford to be closed much longer and there are already hungry protests going which can be watched on their local tv channels. Hopefully politicians will get the message. As for SEA, i read that Nepal took a decision to open international traffic end of August, maybe someone else will follow.aggro wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 5:47 pmAir Asia X, the international division of Air Asia, has closed reservations for all flights in its global distribution systems until October 31, 2021.

I wonder if prices of flights will be ridiculously high
Slow down little world, you're changing too fast.

Re: What's happening in your life?
I spent the day (at home in Luang Prabang, north Laos), putting up some new antennas for my ham radio station. This basically requires me to throw fishing line attached to fishing lead weights high over the palm trees in my garden, attach the line to a string and pull the string up, then attach the end of the string to the end of my wire antenna and pull that up.
Sounds straightforward? Typically, I throw the lead weight in the wrong direction and it gets stuck in a tree and has to be 'abandoned'. Or my weight turns into a deadly missile and sails over into the adjacent road where motorcyclists past regularly. Even if I get the weight over the right tree, the fishing line can snag and break, or I get the lead weight heading at speed towards my face as it riccochets back when I pull the line, or I get bitten by 100 red ants on the trees etc etc.
Finally, after completing this task in the monsoon rain and retreating back inside the house and eagerly plugging in my radio, I typically find reception/transmission is no better than before, and it's time to think of a different antenna design.
I've been a radio ham for yonks, and it is both an enjoyable AND a very frustrating hobby

I can't pretend to know what will happen in the future. But I can say that right now the exact same flight home that usually costs me about 2800 is now going for 4400.

I've joined Shaun Attwood's True Crime Podcast research team. He and Sonia Poulton present a live three-hour podcast on Saturday nights, which requires a lot of research and fact checking.
I'm thrilled to be involved!

At my heaviest I was 110kg.
Today I am 78kg.
It’s amazing how the freedom of being done with a shitty, toxic relationship can help you to shed the baggage - emotional and physical.
