Re: Watching Town hall with Ex Pres Trump
it boils down to should the leader of the free world be someone convicted ,( right or wrongly) of various crimes and under indictment for others, be that person??
I feel the party will find some reason to not give him the nomination and Biden also will not get it>>
wishful thinking
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Re: Watching Town hall with Ex Pres Trump
I know that the trailer trash, conspiracy theorists and reality tv watchers all love Trump. At the same time I know that most "intelligent" people, media people, and those are considered fair-minded and decent, absolutely despise the man and his every utterance. But what is more likely - that there is a huge anti-Trump witch hunt and we are all out to get him, or is his fan base built on biased, white supremacist, racist, sexist rantings. Is he the biggest loser in history, or the US greatest president? Occam's razor says the most likely answer is usually the truth....say no more.

Which new war did Gerald Ford start?General Mackevili wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 2:43 pm
Y'all just mad he didn't take the bait, lol. I know it goes against your beliefs of Orange Man Bad, but he's the only US president that hasn't gotten us into a new war since Nixon.

Although in his defence, neigher this lady accusing him or her lawyer is "his type".hdgh29 wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 3:38 pm I know that the trailer trash, conspiracy theorists and reality tv watchers all love Trump. I should add though , this particular case does not have me convinced at all. He's an ass as usual but that doesn't make him guilty. Her evidence consists of a few friends saying she told them about it.
And then her claim that he ruined her, that she could never smile at a man again etc. I don't buy it.
I don't support Trump in any way but I also don't like lying.

What suggests that she isn’t lying about it is the other 26 women who have very similar stories; those stories also happen to be consistent with Trump’s descriptions of his own behavior.General Mackevili wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 12:59 pmLoL, I guess you're a big fan of political prosecution. Don't you find it a tad bit odd that the lady can't even say the year, season it happened? to suggest that she's not just lying about it?
To answer your other question, no, I’m not a fan of political prosecution, political persecution, or political correctness. The low point is that there’s a man who held the highest office in the country who is CONSTANTLY involved in scandals. Can we not find a leader a little less likely to have probable cause for criminal investigation?
I’m not a fan of the man, but this is more of a commentary on the sordid state of American politics and how we can’t help electing train wrecks.

Hmmm yes, well. They were both life altering events.
Not everyone’s memory works the same way. I can remember conversation details very well over the years - but some other things just don’t register in the same way.
- she still could be lying, obviously - but I think we should be cautious not to judge others from the expectation that we all perceive and recall things the same way. We don’t

So any woman can come and collect their 5 million basically if that's the evidence needed.Little_Vicious wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 4:30 pmWhat suggests that she isn’t lying about it is the other 26 women who have very similar stories; those stories also happen to be consistent with Trump’s descriptions of his own behavior.General Mackevili wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 12:59 pmLoL, I guess you're a big fan of political prosecution. I understand the feeling but its not enough evidence.

Well Trump did refuse to take the stand to defend himself from these allegations.
