Simmering conflicts appear to be better than all-out World War, according to current doctrine, I believe.

Hence, the attention now given to N. Korea by a conservative (if flamboyant) U.S. President, whose job, it appears, is to constantly prevent WW III. Whether people support the U.S. or not. :/
