Villages torched, dozens of Rohingya killed by Myanmar military.

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

tragic;
regardless of the reason why, this is just wrong that the world allows it to happen.
Sky News has managed to film the first independent evidence from Rakhine State - the centre of Myanmar's brutal crackdown against the Rohingya.
It shows a truly alarming humanitarian crisis of huge proportions is taking place right here, right now, as you are reading this.
And there is little intervention by the international community to halt it.

Myanmar Bans Special UN Envoy from Visiting Country

VOA - Wednesday 20th December, 2017
The United Nation's special human rights envoy to Myanmar says the government is barring her from visiting the country to assess the current situation in the East Asian nation.

Wednesday's announcement by Yanghee Lee coincides with Myanmar's military revealing the discovery of 10 bodies in a mass grave in northwestern Rakhine state, where more than 600,000 Rohingya Muslims once called home before fleeing to neighboring Bangladesh to escape a brutal military offensive.

The grave was discovered Monday in the village of Inn Din. The army says it is conducting an investigation.

The South Korean-born Lee said she is 'puzzled and disappointed' by the government's decision, which gives off 'a strong indication that there must be something terribly awful happening in Rakhine.'...

This is devastating news - I was very close to moving to Myanmar before I came to Cambodia but then all this kicked off. Why is it that such beautiful countries can have such ugly histories, and this one is being made right now 💔

Did u have a possible job in Myanmar? As unless ur married, getting a long term visa is nearly impossible. I prefer traveling in Myanmar to Cambodia and the people are amazing..
Whats the biggest tragedy is that the Rohingya's never have and NEVER will be accepted as Burmese..

On a side note, although tourism took a hit when the story broke in late 2017 and continued thru the year, its up in the air if tourism will grow in 2018 until this is all settled down...
YANGON —Myanmar’s tourism sector has been booming since the country began opening its doors to the outside world in 2011, after decades of isolation under military rule. Tourist arrivals surged from 800,000 in 2011 to 4.7 million in 2015. But the sector had a setback late last year with the outbreak of violence in Rakhine State, which saw hundreds of people killed and drove almost 700,000 Rohingya to neighboring Bangladesh. In the wake of the violence, tourists cancelled their trips. Many raised safety concerns and moral objections

Get with the (CNN) program! Trump is obviously in "collusion" with the Russians. He is a Putin fanboy, etc, etc.

Can we get coverage of Palestine and Yemen, or are those not on the fake liberal concern list?
