At least ten people have been killed in an attack on Turkey’s largest airport, Istanbul Atatürk, according to the country’s justice minister.
Two suspects blew themselves up outside the security checkpoint at the entry to the international terminal, after police opened fire on them, according to another Turkish official.
A spokesperson for the Istanbul police told the Guardian that “a bomb exploded at the airport and there are many casualties”, adding that the exact number is not yet known.
Preliminary reports suggested that at least ten people were killed in the attack, justice minister Bekir Bozdağ told parliament in Ankara.
The police spokesperson said that one person, “maybe a terrorist”, opened fire at police guarding the outside of the airport in order to gain access to the international terminal before detonating a bomb, “maybe a suicide bomb”.
State-run TRT television said an explosion hit a control point at the international terminal of the airport.
A witness told broadcaster CNN Turk that gunfire was also heard from the car park at the airport. Taxis and ambulances were ferrying wounded people from the airport.
Police barred access to the airport, and some flights have been diverted away from Istanbul.

Re: Terrorist Attack on Istanbul Airport kills at least 10.
Yes, anti-gun laws sure stopped this one. I did see a video of a brave policeman/guard shooting one of the radical Muslim's, but when he went over to him and saw the suicide vest he ran like hell (good for him, I how he made it out alive as he is a hero.) When are the countries of the world going to wise up and go after the Imam's in the mosques that are spreading this filth and brain-washing these people into killing innocents?

Did you even bother thinking before you posted that garbage? Guns are easy to get in Turkey.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Which "garbage" are you talking about? The radical Islam "garbage." or the fact that anti-gun laws don't stop criminals and radical Muslims from getting firearms "garbage"? So you've bought firearms in Turkey or just heard about it? If you bought them, that makes you a criminal, but if you just heard about it, that makes you just a gossip.
