Terror strikes at a concert in Moscow

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

Keep this in mind whenever you see the world dancing and cheering for 9/11 or 7/7 terrorist attack, because people feel that way much moreso about America and the UK, that not only cannot they not find their violin, they bring out their drums for a big conga line (to where even your own allies celebrate) ; i.e, The way you feel about Russia, is the way much of the real[/] world outside of Western Europe feels.

Also lol@"Peaceful neighbour". Is that what you call a country which has been using peace agreements to prepare for war (which both the former German chancellor and French president admitted to when they thought no one was looking???

I don't remember Ukraine invading any other country, can you remind us when that was? Nearly every country has an army for defence, how can you conflate that with the biggest invasion in Europe since WWII?

WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT THE TERRORIST SUSPECTS IN MOSCOW

1. Dalerjon Mirzoev - CONFESSED - 32, Illegal Immigrant from Tajikistan, overstayed work visa, father of 4 young children.
2. Saidakrom Rachabalizoda - 28, allegedly born in Tajikistan, lives in Moscow.
3. Shamsiddin Fariduni - 24, Born in Tajikistan, factory worker, father of an 8-month-old baby.
4. Muhammadsobir Fayzov - Hairdresser, wheeled in on a stretcher to court.

All have reportedly been charged under Russia's "Terrorist Act" for their alleged involvement in the Crocus City Hall terrorist attack.

The maximum penalty is life imprisonment.

will anyone know what drove, these seemingly normal people, to do this, PLUS where they got the weapons??

In today's world it's not surprising. America is becoming the laughingstock of the world and rightly so. I used to be an optimist but over the last eight years I've become a born-again cynic.

All appear to have been beaten - videos of brutal interrogation sessions were apparently leaked by Russian security forces, and reports suggest at least one had suffered electric shocks.

The men the court identified as Mirzoyev and Rachabalizoda had black eyes and the latter's ear was heavily bandaged - reportedly from it being partially severed during his arrest.

Mirzoyev also appeared to have a torn plastic bag wrapped around his neck.

The face of the man identified as Fariduni was badly swollen, while the man named as Fayzov appeared to lose consciousness as he was brought into court in a wheelchair wearing a thin hospital gown.

He appeared to have an eye missing, according to the Reuters news agency.

Very surprised they didn't take their own lives before they were caught. They must have known they would be in for a fate worse than death.

Maybe they were man enough to point their guns at unarmed civilians and massacre them at point blank range, but not quite man enough to turn the rifle around, facing the other way?

Well, consider that -- at least per their own accounts -- they were doing this for money.
Would it make sense to blow your head off before getting paid?

But how did they ever expect to escape? This is what I don't understand about Putin's narrative that they planned to escape to Ukraine. You don't get to put on a wig, some lipstick, some dark glasses, and walk past the entirety of Moscows security services as a concert hall is up in flames behind you with over a hundred dead bodies inside.

From the Moscow Times.
https://www.themoscowtimes.com/2024/03/ ... men-a84612
Medvedev, who has emerged as one of Russia’s most vitriolic pro-war hawks following the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, claimed “it’s more important to kill everyone involved” in the Crocus City Hall attack than just the four suspects being held in custody.

“All of them: those who paid, those who sympathized [and] those who helped,” said Medvedev, who serves at the Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council.

“Kill them all,” he said.
This puts everyone these 4 guys know in the crosshairs. Family, friends, anyone they have ever messaged on any service, all of them are going to get a visit and some of them will just disappear.

why does that sentence sound so trite these days ?
I don't know. But I meant it 100% seriously because I feel terrible for the victims.

Also, that 15-year old kid who worked in the cloakroom and saved peoples' lives is a fucking hero.
