Re: Saudi Arabia Executes Four for Drug Possession
I went to Saudi for the first time well over a decade ago to meet with some local construction contractors for a joint venture project there. After we signed the agreement, the four Saudi nationals who escorted me around pulled out five cans of Pepsi cola and said we must celebrate with an American drink in my honor. They each looked around like they were trying not to be caught doing something illegal or immoral as they sneaked little sips and then concealed the Pepsi cans the best they could. When I asked why the stealth, they said there was an official boycott of all American soft drinks to show Saudi Arabia's disapproval of the US support for Israel, and getting caught drinking Pepsi cola by the roving morality police would surely result in them being beaten and locked up.

But not much nice.frank lee bent wrote:but Vlad, some qualified eng lang teachers make up to usd 12k per month in that hellhole.
english teacher x has a great deal to say about it.
I have similarly met very few people that liked working with Koreans in Korea.
The pay is great, but only because of conditions.
I'd work for survival wages on Lake Malawi, but no way I'm going to Saudi even with $4K/month until I'm really, really down and out.
The bridge option might be more preferable.
Jesus loves you...Mexico is great, right?

In films and tv it's one quick lop, in reality it is often five or six hacks before it's over, especially if, like ISIS, they use a less than razor sharp weapon.OrangeDragon wrote:Execution by beheading sounds a lot nicer than execution by being turned into a moth who found it's way to a bug zapper light, choking to death on poison gas or feeling a chemical induced heart attack.
One quick lop and it's over.
