Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced they’re taking a “step back” from the royal family

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

Without wanting to de-rail this thread any further I must step back in and apologise for my error in using the word "blacklist" in my submission earlier. I should have in fact used the correct Woke term which would be "rainbow listed" however I fear now that I will further upset those who may suffer from colour blindness.
Thank you to @Doc67 and @armchairlawyer for pointing out my error. :beer3:

There is a principle at stake here. It now seems to be accepted that if you cause offence it is: (1) your fault and (2) you must apologise. Intention to offend is no longer required; if offence is caused then you are guilty. This is wrong.

You have no right to not be offended. You never had had such a right. People find people offensive all the time. (I might be offending people right now.)

If we accept the former you will always have people getting offended, usually by people who are self appointed activists, on behalf of others, and making a career out of being offended. It will never end. It will just get worse.

As a 59 year old lawyer she could of taken a stand and defended herself a bit better. But she just caved in. That should tell you something.
Still going back to the UK Doc?
Surely just a vaccination layover??
Actually, I bit the bullet and had the Sinovac here. I'm all done so any need to go to the UK for vaccine has passed. Plus the bars are open again here. In the UK the June 21st Freedom Day is looking less likely by the day and the Indian Variant (I refuse to call it by the other name) has taken off, as I feared, and where this ends up is anyone's guess.

For the time being, I am staying put.

Thomas Markle says he is similar to Prince Charles because Prince Harry and Meghan are 'ghosting' both their families

Image

Thomas Markle said his rift with the Duchess of Sussex was similar to Prince Harry’s relationship with Prince Charles.

“I think we’d get along quite well, and it’s unfortunate what’s happened to him as well,” Thomas said of Charles. “He seems like a likable guy, and I actually appreciated the fact that he walked my daughter down the aisle. I certainly couldn’t have asked for a better replacement, although I would love to have done that.”

He added: “Now they’re alone in a huge house they could probably accommodate 20 people in, and it’s just the four of them. But I don’t think they’re going to have relatives over for a barbecue tomorrow, or next week, or next month.”

Harry “contradicts himself so much,” Thomas said. “It’s like with my daughter – he said my daughter was thinking of suicide and he went to the royals and they wouldn’t help him. Well, you don’t go to the royals, you pick up the telephone and you call the doctor.”

Royal insiders claim Harry and Meghan rejected Earl of Dumbarton title for Archie

London: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex allegedly rejected the title Earl of Dumbarton for their son Archie because it contained the word “dumb”.

Royal-connected sources who were not free to speak on record said that Harry and Meghan declined the Scottish noble title because they feared Archie may be bullied or attract unfortunate nicknames.

The word “dumb” is more frequently used as schoolyard slang for stupid in the US.

It follows reports that relations between the couple and Prince Charles plunged after he told them Archie would never become a prince because he wants a slimmed-down monarchy when he becomes king.

A part of me wishes that the Royal family did this deliberately knowing that they might refuse it on the basis of it containing the word "dumb".
It will be a win-win for them all round as now Little Miss Me-Again has just pissed off a whole town of about 20k people and lose them even more popular support in the UK/Scotland.
The Royal family will, meanwhile, say "well, we tried" while the press have a field day denigrating Little Miss Me-Again even more.
