I edited it when I realized he was Prince Phillip's uncle and not Charles'. He was a mentor to the young Charles though.
his is not the first time Lord Mountbatten has been linked to Kincora, with earlier claims published in 1990 that he was part of an 'old boy' network that preyed on children at the boys' home.

A secret FBI dossier uncovered by Lownie backs up the claims of Mountbatten's activities.

When the Baroness Decies, Elizabeth de la Poer Beresford, was being interviewed by the FBI about another matter, she raised concerns about Lord Mountbatten, stating that in their circles, he and his wife, Edwina, were considered "persons of extremely low morals".

"She stated that Lord Louis Mountbatten was known to be a homosexual with a perversion for young boys," the file read. "In Lady Decies' opinion he is an unfit man to direct any sort of military operations because of this condition. She stated further that his wife Lady Mountbatten was considered equally erratic."

As crowds gathered yesterday at Mullaghmore to quietly recall the dread arrival of tragedy and violence on their shores 40 years ago, the loss of innocent life was bitterly lamented, including the two school boys whose lives were snuffed out mercilessly.

But a more nuanced pall necessarily now hangs over the death of the British war hero whom Prince Charles had recalled on his reconciliatory visit to Mullaghmore in 2015 as "the grandfather I never had".

Oh dear, it might be all unravelling..

1. A highly respected former Royal protection officer has raised questions about Prince Andrew's 'alibi' for the night he allegedly had sex with teenage trafficking victim Virginia Roberts.

In an interview with The Mail on Sunday, the officer says he believes the Prince may have returned to Buckingham Palace in the early hours of March 11, 2001 – contradicting his account of being 'at home' all evening after taking his daughter Beatrice to Pizza Express in Woking.

The former officer also said there was a period in 2000 and 2001 when women would arrive unannounced at Buckingham Palace to see Andrew. They included the model Caprice Bourret (pictured) and, on at least one occasion, Ms Maxwell

2. 'I saw Prince Andrew groping Virginia Roberts': Witness claims he saw the Duke kissing and holding hands with Epstein sex slave on the disgraced tycoon's infamous 'paedo island'

Prince Andrew 'grinded against and groped' Virginia Roberts on Jeffrey Epstein's private Caribbean island, a witness has claimed.

Steve Scully, 70, said he saw the Duke of York fooling around by the pool for several minutes with a bikini-clad blonde which he insists was sex slave Ms Roberts.

Mr Scully, who maintained the internet and phone signal on Little St James for the billionaire paedophile, made the bombshell accusations in an interview with the Sun on Sunday.

(CNN)The US Department of Justice has requested an interview with Prince Andrew as part of its criminal investigation into the alleged sex trafficking ring once operated by Jeffrey Epstein, according to a person familiar with the matter.

If he knows what's good for him, he should never let himself be interviewed under oath. He has never been 'questioned' about anything in his life other than by the Queen, and I doubt she is too probing. Once he gets in front of a very experience lawyer, one who knows many facts surrounding his line of questioning, any lie on Prince Andrew part will put him at risk of perjury charges. If he thinks he has trouble now, lie and get caught! I don't think he is intellectually or emotionally equipped to handle an interview.

The request, initiated by federal prosecutors in the Manhattan US Attorney's office, is part of a mutual legal assistance treaty request -- a form of cooperation between countries for assistance in the investigation or prosecution of criminal offenses -- submitted to the UK's Home Office, according to the source.

A spokesman for the US Attorney's office for the Southern District of New York, Nick Biase, said: "I cannot publicly comment on communications with foreign governments on investigative matters, including confirming or denying the very existence of such communications."

In a statement Monday, Prince Andrew's legal team said that "any pursuit of an application for mutual legal assistance would be disappointing."
They said the Justice Department had told them "that the Duke is not and has never been a 'target' of their criminal investigations into Epstein" and that Prince Andrew "has on at least three occasions this year offered his assistance as a witness to the DOJ" adding that he "recently repeated his willingness to provide a witness statement."

Criticizing what they described as a breach of confidentiality on the part of the Justice Department, they said that in claiming Prince Andrew hasn't been cooperative, "they are perhaps seeking publicity rather than accepting the assistance proffered."

Hours later, Geoffrey Berman, the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, refuted those claims, saying the prince "has repeatedly declined our request to schedule such an interview, and nearly four months ago informed us unequivocally -- through the very same counsel who issued today's release -- that he would not come in for such an interview."
Berman added: "If Prince Andrew is, in fact, serious about cooperating with the ongoing federal investigation, our doors remain open, and we await word of when we should expect him."
Buckingham Palace and the UK Home Office did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

I’ve had the “pleasure” of meeting Prince Andrew some years ago. He was rude, arrogant and downright miserable. That was in the early 90’s. I doubt he has changed much.

If he has an ounce of sense, he’ll stay quiet. But the breathtaking arrogance he showed with his TV interview tells me that he thinks he’s smarter than anyone who may question him.

I've watched that Netflix documentary on Epstein and I find Prince Andrew's accusers credible. More credible than his inane attempt to clear his name, at the very least.

That there's a photo of him with one of the girls upstairs in a certain house also does very little to help his case. Maybe he shouldn't have denied knowing her outright.

Prince Andrew’s meticulously planned fightback begins

Amid a slew of headlines over his relationship with disgraced financier and convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, efforts are being made to rehabilitate Andrew’s reputation.

Although to many it may seem an impossible task in light of the continuing negative publicity, the British lawyer’s statement earlier on Monday marks the start of a meticulously planned campaign that began in January when Blackfords, Andrew’s lawyers, instructed Clare Montgomery QC, a leading extradition lawyer.

Described as “the most formidable member of the bar”, her previous clients have included former Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet. The statement also confirmed the hiring of specialist defence barrister Stephen Ferguson, described as a “fearless cross examiner” adept at “demolishing prosecution cases”.

Both are being briefed by Gary Bloxsome, a criminal defence solicitor who has defended British troops against war crime allegations and is understood to have been appointed directly by Andrew.

In March, the London Telegraph revealed that Mark Gallagher, a former director of corporate affairs and chief of staff at ITV, had been brought onside to handle the PR through his private client business, Riverside Advisory.

Nicknamed “the backroom fixer”, Gallagher is one of Britain’s most highly-respected spin doctors, having sat on the main board of Camelot Group as group corporate affairs after being public affairs director at ITN. His private clients over the last six years have included those falsely accused of child abuse by Carl Beech.
