Got caught in the midst of the "apocalyptic" powercut. It was mildly inconvenient not to have wifi for an hour or so. Worse still, afternoon tea was delayed.DaveG wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2019 2:41 pm Lol, OMG power went off for a couple of hours in UK, It was "Apocalyptic " apparently !!!!.

Surely, this is a fault with the domestic staff?Worse still, afternoon tea was delayed.
A minor issue of a power out should hardly lead to drastic consequences of tea service interruption.
Re: UK power cut "Apocalyptic"
Delay only caused by the slightly longer time it took to boil the water in a pan as opposed to the kettle. The staff reacted quite wellFreightdog wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2019 1:33 amSurely, this is a fault with the domestic staff?Worse still, afternoon tea was delayed.

Re: UK power cut "Apocalyptic"
Used to have loads of power cuts in the 70s & early 80s, great fun in those days ... or was it just that Spigzy Senior hadn't paid the bill ...
Meum est propositum in taberna mori,
ut sint Guinness proxima morientis ori.

A good, reliable limousine and knowledgeable driver eradicates this problem. Not to mention the chilled Bolly in the armrest refrigerator. The Seawolf wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2019 4:48 pm Look at those poor fuckers on the packed train station. Reminds me of why I left
