SinBoy, When would you like to test out your theory that I would run away? (Your chance to see if I'm all bluster or not.)(PM me for a nice set down talk, time and place.) A man would back up his words with action, but in actuality you are the one who would run home to mommy, as you have done many times before. I would look forward to an honest discussion without your hiding behind the nameless internet, but its obvious for all to see that you are just flamer hiding behind the internet and are a gutless internet troll. Just for once why don't you add to the conversation instead of mindless, childish, infantile flaming? Your posts are not only boring,, but predicable.

Ali: Have you been to Oregon, its really a nice state. I've hiked and fished in the Blue Mountains, swam in the Rogue River, walked the sand dunes on the coast, seen the Oregon caves, Crater Lake and fished the mighty Columbia River. While I dislike state and federal politicians, Oregon has some decent laws. They allow a person who has passed the FBI background check and paid the transfer fees to own a full auto weapon. Being a firearms collector this is a real plus to me, but I know our friends in Europe/England, Australia and many other countries wouldn't understand.(Since the federal law was passed on full auto weapons, no licensed full auto weapon has been used in a crime in America.)

Oregon is where all those that become disillusioned with Ca head
been up there many times, love it,
Eugene has to be one of the coolest places in the states to live.

The us has no trouble with gun control; it has trouble with crazies gaining access to guns
thing is all the laws against gun ownership or control are bullshit,
u can go to any large city in the states and find a gun in a few hours, sold out of the back of someones trunk.

Sailor; put sin on ignore; really helps keep threads on track :beer3:

What do you think gun control means?
Surely it means controlling who has access to guns.

Mercifully, we have moved from the distasteful tale of the upskirt snapshot chappie to the more agreeable subject of gun control laws.

One's memory dims with time, but what follows is true:

A rural resident of County Leitrim, in the Irish Republic, applied for a shotgun certificate in the early 1980s.

Approval took a while but the applicant was patient and eventually the certificate was issued. It was
only later that he learned that it was standard practice for the police to canvass the neighbours' opinions of
such an applicant's behaviour and mental state.

This is NOT an absolutely foolproof way of doing things, of course.

Gun control addresses who can BUY a GUN and what type, not who has them and uses them ( u think gun control means shit to gang bangers??? LOL

There have been 189 school shootings in the states since 2013,, so is gun control really the problem or is it a mental health issue?
Many recent killings at schools ( Newtown, Sandy Hook, Columbine, Antigo Wisconsin) were committed by legally obtained guns.
so how does anyone address that issue? guns are easy to get legally and illegally
what laws can anyone pass that will put an end to anyone shooting others? Answer; NONE :beer3:

as to the above ; great, THE legal owner was vetted and granted permits to buy a gun, but what happens when his son takes the gun out and kills his dad and than goes to school and kills more??

Gun control is about making guns more difficult to obtain, not impossible. If gun control is useless why do Chinese terrorists and homicidal maniacs go on stabbing sprees in train stations and schools?

Gun control is one way to address the symptoms of violence by making killers less effective and reducing their death toll. Addressing the root cause of the violence would require a level of nationwide introspection that few are willing or able to pursue. Hence the mental-illness red herring.

Why don't Chinese terrorists and mass killers use guns?

Boston proves my point. The death toll would have been much higher if they had guns.
