Apparently, there's no end to the ridiculous hysteria....

I was in Taiwan during SARS and it was the same hysteria. Chinese freak out over these influenza viruses. The school I was at ended the academic year in April and we got full pay. From what little I've seen of the Cambodian system, I doubt teachers would be paid if school was cancelled but its already good. My normal class sizes of 30 + kids is down to about 15 kids so its so much easier.

Is there anything else the Chinese can introduce to other countries , China the country that keeps on giving

A British family trapped in the centre of the coronavirus outbreak are facing their “worst nightmare” after being told wife and mother Sindy Siddle will not be allowed on the plane evacuating them from the country.

Siddle travelled to Hubei province with her husband, Jeff, and nine-year-old daughter, Jasmine, to spend lunar new year with her family in the village of Hongtu.

The UK Foreign Office (FCO) has told her that since she has a Chinese passport, she will not be allowed to board the plane evacuating British nationals in the next few days.

China does not recognise dual nationality; any citizen who wants to get a passport from another country has to give up their Chinese one. Many people unofficially managed to hold two passports, by acquiring a second nationality without informing Chinese authorities. But in recent years, driven partly by an anti-corruption campaign, there have been greater official efforts to crack down on dual nationals.

A 42-year-old accounts assistant, Siddle has had a visa for permanent residency in the UK since 2008.

Cambodia Breaking News,(Svay Rieng): The Cambodian Ministry of Health has installed a scanner at the border gate of Bavet, Svay Rieng province, to screen all national and international tourists for the coronavirus virus 24/24 hours at the Bavet International border gate with Vietnam.

The deputy director of the Bavet International Border Gate told reporters that at the Bavet International Border Gate a scanner has been installed to monitor any symptoms of the new respiratory coronavirus in all visitors entering Cambodia.

If there are any suspected symptoms, the procedure is that the specialist escorts the person to a safe room, then checks and re-tests if the coronavirus is found positive. If so, the medical officer will wear protective clothing and will place the patient in a secure building in a hospital bed featuring an oxygen tank for respiratory problems, and a physician monitoring the illness and recovery. If necessary, we also have an ambulance from the Chi Phu district referral hospital, 24 hours a day, equipped with medical equipment and paramedics.

So far no visitors to Cambodia through this border gate have been diagnosed positive with coronavirus respiratory tract infections.

One of Vietnam’s first confirmed coronavirus patients recovers

One of the two Chinese nationals who were the first confirmed cases of infection by the new coronavirus in Vietnam has recovered.
At Saigon’s Cho Ray Hospital, Li Zichao, 28, was tested three times including on Monday and turned up negative every time. He had been at the hospital for six days.

Zichao is able to breathe without the assistance of a respirator and eats food normally, Dr Nguyen Tri Thuc, the hospital director, said.

His father, Li Ding, 66, is still receiving treatment. He sleeps and eats without difficulty and his organs are functioning well, but he still needs a ventilator.

Ding's temperature became normal on Saturday night, three days after being admitted, but tests on Monday still showed positive for the virus, Thuc said. He is in quarantine.
