The UK started its end game on day one. Between there & the USA I think you’ve got two populations least likely to “toe the line” - and the results show.

I don’t like to be the least humane of humans, but I’d have gone with the herd immunity approach in both of those countries in favour of economy & “best endeavours” on the older population & extreme cases in young folks; definitely if I was a political leader in either country.

Survival of the fittest is surely the way for longevity of our race; I don’t understand extreme measures to save pandas at the expense of other animals when they’re clearly bloody useless and should be extinct; why should humans be any different. “We’ve all got it coming”- Munny

To the people who believe the reasons for destroying people's lives, and the economy, what do you see as the best way for this to end? Do we continue lock downs until most people are bankrupt, or the governments of the world are broke?

When I hear 'herd immunity' I see visions of stampeding wilderbeest with the sick and young ones who can't keep up with the herd getting picked off by the lions.. And so it is in nature..

And so, we have the ability to care for others less fortunate or can't properly take care of themselves like the elderly, sick or the young.

When I hear 'survival of the fittest' applied in the human context, I envision a dog eat dog world where we are less caring and have a selfish attitude but maybe that's just me.

0.6% mortality according to the latest WHO report (not counting all the false positives/inflated numbers/asymptomatics). The seasonal flu is 0.3%. Are the millions of jobless and resulting destroyed lives worth it? What' exactly should the threshold be then? Should we stop all travel/business until we reach zero traffic fatalities worldwide as well?
