Coronavirus yet to be diagnosed in Cambodia as schools close

Some private schools in Cambodia have shuttered their classrooms for a number of days this week as a precautionary measure against the deadly Coronavirus.

Several international schools had revised an earlier notice of schools being re-opened today to reopen tomorrow-pending adoption of adequate safety measures.

These include Northbridge International School, CIA International School and a number of others.

Health Ministry spokesman Ly Sovann said that though there were some suspected case of the virus, detailed blood tests and observation had shown negative results and the suspected patients were allowed to return home.

If found to have the virus then likely passed on to others on the plane. Also his travel group will need special focus as they have been with him as they travel to airport etc.

Stop all flights from China.!!!!!!!!!!!

In the short term may be a very smart move.

Vietnam sending Chinese home to Wuhan but planes must return empty. Thats the model to follow.

If this virus gets a hold in Cambodia it will be an extreme challenge for Cambodian hospitals to cope.

The worry must be that most Cambodians live day to day on their income from work. Any closing of areas would bring extreme hardship to many quickly!!!!

Reporting from Bangkok

This is extraordinary

1. Suvarnabhimbi Airport have much less passengers at immigration and luggage carousel

2. Saw 2 groups of China tour they were directed to another area for immigration away from the rest

3. Hong Kong passengers join the common passengers

4. Road leading out of airport theres so few cars as if it midnight time

5. Today is Monday and normally lots of traffic but the highway connecting airport to downtown is so so few cars

6. Also the connection between Motorway with Ring Road is perpetually jammed between 4-9pm it was all the way clear

7. My maid left home at 5.45pm (rush hour) to pick us at airport ordinarily will take 50mins to 1hr took only 25mins

8. Basically the journey back roads and highways all clear like Songkran when Bangkokians leave Bangkok for holiday.

Kindda scary
