That’s exactly what I’m thinking, but I thought I’d let someone else come out and say it, so as to avoid having the inevitable to tinfoil hat comments being directed at me.

The main criticism is not towards scientists, it’s towards media for their misleading wording. They only have to add one word “detected” to the number of infections to direct the blame away from themselves.

In the post corona world credibility of mass media will be under a big question by a larger number of people as too many people have been affected by media’s incompetency or intentional fear mongering (pick the reason you prefer)... once the true number of infections and much lower mortality rates are learned with more studies like the above.

I can certainly agree with part of that argument, Hunter.
People are sheep.

But that does't mean i think the population of the world, most leaders and most public health officials have been led down the garden path.
We are all learning from scratch, and in situations like this the "precautionary principle" is a very wise course.
