this is not a good thing
South Korea reports recovered coronavirus patients testing positive again.
South Korea reports recovered coronavirus patients testing positive again.
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-heal ... lAg0JGLqYESEOUL (Reuters) - South Korean officials on Friday reported 91 patients thought cleared of the new coronavirus had tested positive again.
Jeong Eun-kyeong, director of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC), told a briefing that the virus may have been “reactivated” rather than the patients being re-infected.
South Korean health officials said it remains unclear what is behind the trend, with epidemiological investigations still under way.
The prospect of people being re-infected with the virus is of international concern, as many countries are hoping that infected populations will develop sufficient immunity to prevent a resurgence of the pandemic.
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Strange and tragic occurrence about the aquarium cleaner. Legit doctor with a cool show on YouTube, as well, if you like science.

Those countries putting early measures in place were smart, but noting that fact isn't going to help the countries currently in big problems in any way.SternAAlbifrons wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 4:32 pm
eg,
Australia - not in total lockdown - but early, extremely sensible and still very strict restrictions
58 dead. (USA pop equiv would be approx - 850 dead)
USA, where the leader appears to value The Economy more than most, and who certainly has not implemented effective control measures.
18, 500 dead
...already.
Going into some form of a lock down is easy, getting out is extremely difficult. Only China seems to have managed, but to be honest I have no idea what really happened there and what's currently going on and I wonder if anyone except for China and some really well informed secret services do know.
The simple question is what's better, let the virus run it's course with many casualties in the short run and and a relatively short and strong economic disruption, or try to control the spread of the virus hoping an effective safe vaccine will become available and disrupt everything for many months, maybe years.
If a vaccine has been found, and it has been tested, it will take months, maybe years, to produce billions of it. Nobody mentions that. Maybe the vaccine will be a multi-shot one, like rabies or hepatitis, and tens of billions have to be produced. Creating a safe vaccine is only step one, producing at least 7 billion of them is another story.
I understand the short term panic, and thus the choice for lock down NOW, but unless politicians know stuff about this vaccine not available to the public (which I highly doubt) I believe the discussion about whether a lock down is the best option in the medium / long term is a valid one.

Coronavirus vaccine could be ready in September, scientist says
A vaccine for COVID-19 could be ready as soon as September, according to a professor from Oxford University.
Sarah Gilbert is a professor of vaccinology and says that she is "80% confident" a COVID-19 vaccine being developed by her team will work.
Her team at Oxford is part of a global effort to find a vaccine for coronavirus which has killed more than 100,000 people around the world, according to Johns Hopkins University.

Australia only went into lockdown two and a half weeks ago. At that time, Australia was recording around 400 new cases a day. Over the next week, they were still recording figures in the 3-hundreds per day. After that, the numbers started going down to 200, 150, etc. Now, two and a half weeks after the lockdown, Australia is recording less than 101 new cases per day (for the past 3 consecutive days). Yesterday, only 89 new cases.
Absolutely no reason why those countries can't start now.
In another couple of months, Australia will be Covid-19 free, but they won't be doing business with those countries that haven't sorted themselves out.
Start now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes this is so, but she is 80% confident, but it might not work. Could we say false news, or just hope it does work, or someone comes up with a vaccine soon. My neighbour says garlic and hot peppers keep it away.Kammekor wrote: ↑Sun Apr 12, 2020 9:35 amWell, she also says:AndyKK wrote: ↑Sun Apr 12, 2020 9:24 am Coronavirus vaccine could be ready in September, scientist says

May be some truth in that!
Garlic: a review of potential therapeutic effects Avicenna J Phytomedv.4(1); Jan-Feb 2014 Leyla Bayan,1 Peir Hossain Koulivand,1 and Ali Gorji1,2,*
Antiviral properties
In comparison with the antibacterial action of garlic, very little work has been done to investigate its antiviral properties. The few studies have reported that garlic extract showed in vitro activity against influenza A and B (Fenwick and Hanley, 1985 ▶), cytomegalovirus (Meng et al., 1993 ▶; Nai-Lan et al., 1993 ▶), rhinovirus, HIV, herpes simplex virus 1 (Tsai et al., 1985 ▶), herpes simplex virus 2 (Weber et al., 1992 ▶), viral pneumonia, and rotavirus. Allicin, diallyl trisulfide and ajoene have all been shown to be active (Hughes et al., 1989 ▶; Weber., 1992 ▶).
The investigation revealed 24 occurrences of the common cold in the garlic group compared with 65 in the placebo group, resulting in fewer days of illness in the garlic group compared with the placebo group. However, claims of effectiveness of garlic on common cold appear to rely largely on poor quality evidence (Lissiman et al., 2012 ▶). Many countries have used garlic extract for clinical treatments, but the untoward actions of garlic following long-term administration should be fully noted. Even though many studies on garlic and its derivatives have been performed, the exact biological mechanism of garlic extract still remains to be elucidated.

Ultraviolet light can kill the novel coronavirus – COVID-19
According to the latest guideline on the diagnosis and treatment of the novel coronavirus released by the National Health Commission, the virus is sensitive to ultraviolet light and heat, so ultraviolet radiation can effectively eliminate the virus.

So, garlic and ultraviolet light kills the corona virus?
Does this mean anyone who died was a vampire?
