684 died with the coronavirus, not from the coronavirus. 8 years ago, hospital were full of people dying and horrible vision of rooms full of ventilator as well.

High number indeed, but not that high with some perspective. Let's wait for the total number of disease related death before we judge. Daily death caused by covid-19 in the UK should be in the hundreds, but much lower than 600 at this time.

I'm definitely a Sock it's the fifth time people call me that on this forum. May I know what a "sock" is though? : p I'm honestly unfamiliar with the term.

Please don't take things too personally, someone got the reaction "FFS" to 684 which is perfectly understandable, and I'm just saying we should put some perspective on it and wait for more info. It might not be as bad as it seems. Sorry for trying to appease fears. Furthermore my post reacted to the official number, and wasn't directed at DaveG in any way.

Yes, I am a sock pleading with everyone that critical thinking, epistemology, math and science should trump media, narratives, and politicians.
I can clearly see how everyone is desperate to know who to trust and who to listen to, and that people are hating on each other, rather than on each other idea.
I can clearly see how people mindset weirdly fit a specific media rhetoric may it be info wars, BBC, trump, Crowder or Obama on almost all issues.

Trust should be left aside on the internet, or you end up believing in reptilian. Authority sometime leads you to fall to false religions and hateful ideologies. While critical thinking, epistemology, math and science allows you to freely explore the internet without the fear of crossing a sock as you now have a shield against their sword.

Please, I dare you to quote one single of my post where I said anything against taking precautionary measures in this time of pandemic, wearing masks, respecting hygienic rules, and spending billions of dollar to help protect essential workers and "at risk" populations. Helping anyone who wish to confine himself on all levels. Bus can easily be modified to better protect the driver with millions of dollars as well.

I did tell people to go dance and party in cambodia, and you would have to admit this wouldn't kill any bus driver, unless said bus driver was at the party, in which case he wouldn't have much to complain about.
In this case, someone cough in his face, which is a behavior I am completely against, and find it so distasteful.

I am sure there will be a lot of dreadful story of girls getting ganged raped cause they roamed the street instead of working at the bar and tuk tuk loosing kids to malnutrition once the economic impact of having no one in the disco anymore hits.
The stories of the worker in those disco now deserted forced to go back to live with their family, who ended up infecting them and killing them.
We both know those will happen, and I wonder what their message to you will be.

Sorry for considering if the cure is worst than the disease, and for avoiding fear-mongering which is leading to many crazy stories and death as well.

I would like to see you tell that to the nurses that are watching people brought in to their local hospitals suffocating in front of them, we do not see on the news what the reality is, some of the nurses are having melt downs half way through their shift due to the amount of deaths. I hope that someone films inside a hospital so that the general population can get a real understanding of what a Covid death looks like, I can assure you it's not good...

Coronavirus: Brits 'to be asked' to volunteer for COVID-19 clinical trials

More coronavirus patients are needed to step forward and take part in clinical trials, a top health official has said.
So far, 926 people have volunteered to take part in COVID-19 tests - but England’s deputy chief medical officer said more people were needed.
Professor Jonathan Van-Tam said doctors and physicians would approach suitable coronavirus patients about taking part in further clinical trials in the UK.
Speaking at Friday’s Number 10 press conference, he said: “This is about patients who are undergoing treatment at some stage for COVID-19.
“First of all, we need the physicians in charge of their care to sign up for the clinical trial.
“Then it is up to the physician to approach the patient and ask them if they would like to take part.
“It is a process of very careful written informed consent for that to happen.
“The straight answer is yes, we do need people to take part in the clinical trials and they are doing.”

Van Tam also said he expects it will be a few months before results are achieved through clinical trials.
"I know that there will be a question about when are we going to get some results from these clinical trials,” he continued.
"And my straight answer to you is I don't know. I think it's going to be a few months but it will all depend on how quickly patients are recruited into the trials across the NHS.
"The faster we go in getting bigger numbers in the trials, the clearer and more emphatic and more granular signals we will get about what works and who it works for."
Also during Friday’s briefing, Van-Tam said there was no plan to add loss of taste and smell to the list of symptoms people should watch for.
The advice comes despite health secretary Matt Hancock becoming one of many people to report suffering from a loss of taste and smell after contracting the virus.
